Another step toward Government intrusion in our lives. It seems we just throw our freedom away if we get "scared".

Unless I’m missing something, there is no Government mention in that article, and the opt in/out is voluntary.
BTW, there have been far more intrusive devices/methods in existence far far before C-19, exploding with GWB incidentally.

Yes, your missing a whole lot. IMHO. First, it is quite naive to trust these technology companies not to abuse gathered information. They have already proven they can't be trusted. Second, the information is transmitted to Government health agencies. Since when did government fail to abuse the ability to spy on the American people? FISA courts for example. The issue is what this technology opens up. The same technology can be used without permission if they so decide. It always starts out as sounding "reasonable" to sheep. That is by design.

The thought pattern of "already existing methods" is how they continue to take it the next inch. Sheep figure they already have that ability so why not allow it to go next level. On and on it goes until they come for you.

I hear you. I’m referring to the article. There is nothing in there about “they”, “Government” etc. All is speculative, relative to the article posted, at best. Now, if we were to have a philosophical discussion around this, I’d be more inclined to agree.

This quote from the article implies the government.
Contract-tracing is a key part of this because it can help authorities contain a potential resurgence of the virus as people resume regular activities.
Like I said, I don't trust Apple or Google. They are both a very big part of the deep state.

This tweet has a map that shows Covid19 cases by zip code in Houston. Highest concentration are on the far West side. A lot of oil companies are on the West side of Houston. Possibly linked to travel for business?

What's kind of odd is that the west Houston "hot zone" seems to run pretty much along part of the Grand Parkway, then out west to around Bernardo, and then north to around Hempstead. Only a small part of that is the energy corridor, which is mostly between Highway 6 and just inside that Beltway. That "hot zone" is mostly Waller County and includes a lot rural area and small towns. :headscratch

They only did 13,000 more tests than yesterday in Texas. If they can get the testing made available to everyone, they could likely get the economy back on track before it is totally destroyed. I saw a Doctor on Fox that had a great suggestion. Test all of us and allow those not infected go back to work. Only quarantine those who are positive for it. His theory was that it would actually stop the virus in it's tracks. I think he is right.

German lawyer detained for opposition to “Der Shutdown” in Germany.

Seems Germany after the war got a constitution that prevents this kind of power in the hands of elected officials.

Sad that we have to be taught lessons about freedom from a German lawyer.
