My $60 pawn shop Squier Bullet with new pick guard, nut, bridge, Gibson pickups, electronics, everything except the body and the neck/frets. After intonation and a light set of strings it's easily to play and has great sustain. Everything from clean to blues .

Epiphone I found in a dumpster with a broken neck. I repaired the neck and it plays perfectly. Even keeps tune when I dont play it for weeks. Still havent decided what to do about the repairs. I kind of like seeing the repair job.

Dang! Very nice....we'll be waiting to hear the audio files!AndyC wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2020 1:42 pm Thank you kindly - this has been a journey over 3 years in the making.
I tore out the electronics 2 days ago and went with Switchcraft output-jack and selector, then CTS pots (from The Art Of Tone) with Orange Drop caps - and went 50s-style wiring.
From the sounds of your deeper experience with this stuff, I should have talked to you first
Edit: Got tired of the high action so I cut the slots deeper in the nut and now the action is awesome - low and playable with no buzz. Oiled up the fretboard with lemon oil and now she's pretty much done:

I so want to open a shop called GGG. We specialize in Guns, Guitars and Go Fasts!
Of course I would never make any money because it would just feed my collection obsession.
