He gets a weapon on base but I, who am a retired veteran with CCW permit.....I can't carry a weapon on post.
Just amazing!

Exactly, how many times will this happen before allowing our military to carry on base? Stupid rule in my eyes.

i saw last night on our local news the saudi terrorist had purchased the fiream legally. this caught me, as he is a foreign national(FN), how is he eligible to pass a ncic check? or did i miss something.
Secondly Saudi Arabia prohibits its citizens in the U.S. for training from owning, using or other wise being around firearms unless in a due course of training. of course we know how the saudis really feel and for the life of me, do not understand why we kiss their rear.

I say this because i was an instructor at pcola for 4 years. we had numerous FN's attending my school house as well as others. at any one time there were at least 100 FN's on base in various school houses.
I will also go on the rant to say every FN i had in my school was a real pain in the rear. they expected special treatment and more often than not failed to complete curriculum objectives and we would often be ordered to pass them as they were not part of our military and the home government would handle the poor performance. We also DROPPED many FN students for failures after we accumulated enough evidence to sway the chain of command and they would be sent home promptly. usually this overwhelming evidence was of actions outside of the school house. ( drinking, fighting, etc)

the Saudi government was at the time very strict and would often send over delegates to spot check performance of students . of course the students would be perfect and follow all the rules until they left.
the FN students were from many countries, but the students i had from Turkey and Saudia Arabia were by far the most arrogant and hap hazard people i have ever had the opportunity to train..
i laugh at saudi pilot training as saudis will do everything imaginable to not fly at night, unless very sever situations dictate. flight school is almost the only time they will fly at night.

At the schoolhouse there are no weapons, unless we are at the range.

only people on base armed are the security forces tasked with protecting the base and its occupants. how did he pass through security with a firearm? EASY. morning rush hour, its easy as driving through the gate showing your id card.
hmm every body does it, only the few ever get caught, unless 100% vehicle inspections are held. this is a Huge manpower and time burner and is not done very often. I was there during 9/11 and we did the 100% check for weeks. It was stopped because traffic backups, lack of production and continued training interruptions.

my main building in which my school was located switched to only one point of entry and exit and all other doors were reset to alarm if opened and only opened from inside. a metal detector was used and people looked at. but i was a senior person with keys and had free reign to come and do from any door by means of a simple phone call to the security desk. WAS this right? nope. but i exploited it because i despised walking 3/4 mile to get to my office through the main entrance.
but i never carried in the school. but lots of us were carrying in our vehicles in the parking lots. more so after 9/11.

we should have armed security at the school houses 24/7 i raised this concern weekly. or we arm the school house staff.
i had a high of 600 students to look after everyday with only 80 staff. we had at any time 2500 to 3500 students and staff in the main building at any time. thats alot of people to look after.

Legally purchased gun through "Federal loophole".

Not sure how I feel about this. Gun rights for temporary foreign visitors? Gun rights for undocumented immigrants? Gun rights for legal permanent residents?

Since the summer of 2015, members of the Texas Military Forces (Army and Air Force National Guard, and Texas State Guard) who hold a firearm license have been authorized by the Governor and the Adjutant General to carry on Texas National Guard facilities.
https://gov.texas.gov/news/post/governo ... ns_on_base

Further clarified with the advent of carrying openly:
https://tmd.texas.gov/Data/Sites/1/medi ... policy.pdf

Still in effect:
https://tmd.texas.gov/Data/Sites/1/medi ... rearms.pdf

Since 1/1/16, I've carried openly each time I've visited Camp Mabry. PX, museum, ID Card Section, Headquarters, etc.

As the current policy letter is set to expire next month, I expect the Adjutant General will issue a new one soon.

FBI Discovers al Qaeda Link in Pensacola Attack
Second Lt. Mohammed Alshamrani, a member of the Saudi air force who was training with the U.S. military, posted anti-U.S. messages on social media about two hours before he opened fire in a classroom at Naval Air Station Pensacola on Dec. 6, officials have said.

Attorney General William Barr called the attack an act of terrorism...the gunman had communicated with the suspected al Qaeda operative....During the attack, Alshamrani made statements critical of U.S. military actions overseas and fired shots at a picture of President Trump, officials said. In the weeks beforehand, the gunman used social media to blame the U.S. for crimes against Muslims, officials said, issuing a warning on the anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks that “the countdown has started.”

Under U.S.code, foreign nationals who have been lawfully admitted to the U.S. can purchase and possess a gun under a few specific conditions:

If they were admitted to the U.S. for lawful hunting or sporting purposes, or if they are in possession of a U.S.-issued hunting license or permit
If they are an official representative of a foreign government who is accredited with the U.S. government; if they are accredited with a government-partnered international organization headquartered in the U.S.; or if they are in transit to or from a country where they are accredited
If they are an official of a foreign government or a distinguished foreign visitor as designated by the U.S. Department of State
If they are a foreign law enforcement officer of a friendly foreign government entering the U.S. on official law enforcement business
Looking at the history of people at the Department of State... I'm gonna say there is no way the Department of State should have the authority to allow foreign visitors to be armed or purchase firearms.

Cheap oil is why we kiss their rear. And after their antics this year lowering prices so low we should let them take up defending the Persian gulf and keeping the Strait of Hormuz open so their money continues to flow in.
