Years gone by

#1

Post by longtooth »

Was reading a post from ScottDLS. He referenced that he goes back to the old carry forum packing.org.
I checked his join date here. Same as me June 2005. I have only a few days on him. anygunanywhere has a few days on me.

How many here were on packing.org before its collapse. Chime in if you remember it even if not a member. Yes that will tell a lot about our age.

I remember it, don’t think I ever posted there.

Packing.org was my introduction to the idea that everyday people carry a gun for self defense. Never spent much time there but I remember it.

Excellent summary for me too. Even more than that for me there. That is where I really started learning about gear and quality carry holsters. Prior to that I was making my own. Did OK there because I did a good bit of saddle work in my younger days riding and still had the tools.

Longtooth was born there. :tiphat:

My CHL instructor introduced me to the website, but I don't think I ever formally joined.

I read packing. org for several years, don't remember If I joined or not. Then there was a time before I found this site that was sort of a blank hole. I joined this site early 2006 but probably read it for a while before joining.
