Part of the problem is that leftists are so determined to stifle free speech darn near everything has become racist. Unless a person of color says the same thing about whites. Then it is considered OK.

That sort of logic is very familiar. I.E. Only on nut used a (insert weapon type) to kill, but all gun owners need to be punished.
