I liked a quote that I heard on the news from some pundit (didn't catch his name) who said: "let's don't do something stupid just to say we did something."
so, a petty criminal who decided to move to the big time.
Now, what do the politicians, either side, really think is going to happen when they push some kind of garbage law that purports to disarm people? Do they ever take count of the resources required? I've heard all the scenarios, I know that they're "going to get me at a traffic stop" or some such. Whatever, I'm nobody, no skills. Lots of people aren't me, and I'll leave it at that.
NBC National News really beating up on guns, gun rights, Texas, Texas’s Governor and gun violence on today’s evening news with the Midland tragedy. Even a little speech from Beto.
ABC not as much.
No mention of Chicago violence.
No mention that Hong Kong citizens not allowed to own or possess guns as they showed them being beat up on the subway by “police” by Battons with only their umbrellas for defense.

Odessa PD is not publicly releasing the shooters name to avoid giving him any noteriety. This might actually help stop future shooters.
Unfortunately they did post the shooters identity on their Facebook page and USA Today echoed it.

And now, even in death, the piece of human trash can encourage others to get their name added along side his.
How do you explain a dog named Sauer without first telling the story of a Puppy named Sig?

“We know he had been fired from his job, had threatened a neighbor with his rifle and she had notified the Police, he had been shooting animals from the roof of his house.”
Called police and FBI after his firing. Where he was fired called police. Police showed up at his house he had already left. 15 minutes later the shooting started.
As far as I know, the diagnosis of the case is as follows
A lunatic person living in shack who lost his job, so desperate and lonely and hopeless that he wanted to die at the hands of the LEOs. Meanwhile, he decided to inflict as much harm (against society) as he could before being terminated.
Case closed.

I tried to search yesterday for the origin of the Texas laws that banned carrying of handguns. I think that they were from the late 1800s, early 1900s. Every search argument, no matter how I worded it was filled with results about how Texas had eased gun laws just after the Odessa shooting. There were many outlets reporting essentially the same story. I'm guessing that all of the Texas politicians are getting inundated. The three wolves have invited the lamb for a discussion about lunch.
