Also, in case of an active shooter, does the child have the foresight to put it on quickly? Should he/she shield their head, or COM?

Grabbed this snippet from the recent thread on the same topic...Go back and see the video- they show 15+rounds of 5.56 @ 10feet into the same insert with no pass throughs.

Don't know if most kids would think about it but I know they can't put it on if they don't have it

Bulletproof backpacks? What about bulletproof frontpacks and headpacks? When I, and later my sons, went to school, we carried our books in our arms. Oh, I forgot, we didn't go around shooting each other back then.
The solution to these senseless tragedies is not more protective gear. What is it,.....anybody?

We had guns in our vehicles on campus when I was in school, and never any shootings. We also didn't have high-stakes state testing, or school administrators who were more concerned with checking boxes on state reports than how their students were treating each other. While school/teacher accountability is a worthy goal, the result of the efforts to achieve it has shifted the responsibility for learning from the learner to the teacher; from the citizen to the state if you'll allow me that analogy.Oldgringo wrote: ↑Wed Aug 21, 2019 10:00 pm Bulletproof backpacks?
