After chaotic handling of Parkland, airport mass shootings, BSO loses its accreditation

A state panel has voted unanimously to revoke the law enforcement accreditation of the Broward Sheriff’s Office, the largest sheriff’s office in Florida.

The loss of accreditation — a voluntary certification sought by law enforcement agencies — won’t affect BSO’s operations in a major way. But it is a further blow to the agency’s prestige at a time when a new command staff, including a new sheriff, are dealing with a string of failures and questionable conduct by deputies.

The Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation (CFA) cited BSO’s mishandling of the Parkland school shooting last year and the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport shooting in 2017 as reasons for its decision in a 13-0 vote last week.
“Hard times create strong men. Strong men create good times. Good times create weak men. And, weak men create hard times.”

Broward County and the BC Sheriff's Office needs a housecleaning from top to bottom. Get rid of the failed socialist policies put in by Obama cronies and rebuild the county's government and law enforcement to serve the people, not the progressive agenda.

If losing the accreditation won't effect the office all that much, what's the point? This is so typical. If a panel of my peers unanimously voted to revoke the accreditation for my work, that would severely impact my business. Not when it comes to government. if a govt panel votes, and says another govt. agency is no good, they just keep on truckin'. Yeah, we lost our prestige, but, no matter, you're under arrest anyway.

Well deserved! I know there are good officers in the department who sadly must suffer this humiliation as a result of dreadfully poor leadership and a few officers on the left side of the Bell Curve.

With BSO loosing accreditation, Scott Israel fired for incompetence and neglect of duty, as well as 4 deputies fired for neglect of duty it's gonna be a lot more difficult to stand down in the future. That is certainly a good thing!
