I actually just now ordered the takedown carrying case from the Ruger website.
May require taking a razor blade to open up the bottom on two or three of the slots

That SPX was on my short list years back when I was considering getting started in 3-gun. Even with the difference in $$$ I had narrowed it down to the SPX or Benelli M4. Thanks to some advice from AndyC and a bit of luck I waited and ended up with Benelli’s M2 3-gun.
I very happy with it and glad I didn’t go with the pistol grip on a shotgun. I wasn’t sure about it then and still haven’t tried one, but something about a pistol grip on a shotgun doesn’t sit right with me. IDK

I've seen your Benelli M2. First time I ever saw a tactical shotgun used to shoot skeet.C-dub wrote: ↑Wed Jun 05, 2019 11:25 am That SPX was on my short list years back when I was considering getting started in 3-gun. I would have been happy to own a Benelli M2 or M4, but I didn't have Benelli money. I do own a Benelli SBE II for skeet/dove hunting, but I took that one in barter for some website work I did for a local FFL.
Thanks for the suggestions. I'm probably going to eventually swap out the pistol grip stock for a standard one. In the meantime, I've already purchased an Elite Tactical oversized safety switch for it: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XV ... UTF8&psc=1. I have one like it on my 590A1.Rob72 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 05, 2019 8:32 am I believe you'll really like the 930, it feels a bit more responsive than the inertia guns, to me.
Tuning and customization links:
OR3Gun. At the least, their MST is a very worthwhile investment.

Hahn Precision Safety Rail combo
This is nice because (depending on the length of your fingers, mine are "average") you can work the safety using the PG stock.

I replaced my piston with the NiBo coated JM Pro version, and swapped out my mag tube with a stainless 9200 version. Definitely easier to clean. SBE Precision has been boosting their piston, and I'm tempted to try it out. A couple of friends and I ran 750 rounds of mixed Suprema field loads(600 or so rounds), and a few boxes of Remington 00 and slugs in around 40 minutes, with no hiccups. I'd be curious to see if this actually does keep more gunk off the tube than the MST alone.

I saw the TFB article, and that’s kind of cool. I haven’t looked at the copper customs offering yet, but will now. Thanks for the link. But, I’ll most likely keep mine stock. I have a number of "tacticool" firearms, but one of the things I appreciated about the PC9 when I bought mine is the more traditional stock and forend.bblhd672 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 10, 2019 1:12 pm Copper Custom stock for Ruger PC Carbine: Available Summer 2019, price TBD.

It is sweet in the traditional stock/forend. I saw one of the new models with the aluminum free-float handguard at Shoot Point Blank in Arlington...not sure it's worth the additional $90.The Annoyed Man wrote: ↑Mon Jun 10, 2019 3:26 pmI saw the TFB article, and that’s kind of cool. Re: 2 New Guns: a Ruger PC9 carbine, and a Mossberg 930 SPX
They tried to upsell me to that model at Shoot Point Blank in NRH, where I bought mine. I actually preferred the look of the plain Jane model, and I have no plans to weight this one down with a bunch of accessories, so no need for that aluminum handguard. The only thing I’ve added to it is a Primary Arms RDS. I may add a flashlight, but maybe not. This is not my primary SD/HD long gun. I have AR15s for that role, and they’re already gussied up. I bought it exactly for what it is—a fairly light plinker of opportunity, that I can store in "stealth mode" in its compact carrying case in my vehicle, that will extend the capabilities of my Glock carry pistols if needed, and is perhaps less "threatening" looking to the casual observer.bblhd672 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 10, 2019 5:35 pmIt is sweet in the traditional stock/forend. Re: 2 New Guns: a Ruger PC9 carbine, and a Mossberg 930 SPX
A mini-review I posted on another forum after running a few hundred rounds through it:
It ran fine and was accurate. I just didn't enjoy shooting it.Finally got the chance to put a couple hundred rounds through my Ruger PCC and the overall feeling is just....meh.
It functioned fine, seemed plenty accurate and wasn't uncomfortable to shoot or anything but I just found it utterly boring. About three mags into it and I found myself wondering why I even bought it.
I did find I missed not having a bolt release like the AR. I think that platform has me spoiled.
I might end up selling it. I don't know. I am very underwhelmed by it.

To each his own. I went into it with expectations already properly calibrated, so I was satisfied with what I bought. The last time I bought a rifle with optimistic expectations, it bit me on the butt. It's a pre-Remington JM stamped Marlin 1895G Guide Gun in 45-70.… and it’s still for sale.SQLGeek wrote: ↑Tue Jun 11, 2019 9:36 am A mini-review I posted on another forum after running a few hundred rounds through it:

Yes, I bought it thinking I'd find a use for it. It happens. I have shot a 9mm carbine before, a friend's semi-auto Sterling and I think that set the expectation for them. That thing was fun to shoot.
And if I had $900 stuffed in a mattress, I'd take that JM off your hands. I"m sure I will regret not in the future.
