look for images of kitty keychain self defense. 2 holes for eyes that you stick 2 fingers through like knuckles, with the pointy ears as the "business end"

AUSTIN — Texas lawmakers have passed legislation lifting the state ban on brass knuckles, kitty keychains and other self defense items.

The Texas Senate gave the bill its final OK on Wednesday morning; it now heads to Gov. Greg Abbott for his signature or veto.

HB 446 still pending action by the Governor as of this morning.

It came out of both House and Senate Committees unanimously and out of both chambers unanimously - no nays anywhere. In view of that, it is not likely that the Governor's office will interfere with it.

Furthermore, it's often the case that the Governor's staff will signal in advance if there is an intention to go against the rest of the legislature on any issue. The bill author would know if any such indication has been rendered.

Otherwise, one way or another, everyone will know by June 16 at the latest whether it will come into effect.

Same question here. I"m taking L3/L4 security training for my church safety team.
Yes. Right now you have to be on duty.

Just as a potentially amusing factoid, I found no version of the kitty key chain for sale on Amazon this morning.

I figured what the heck, given that it has come up in conversation and will likely be legalized, I'd pick up a couple for myself and for use as future stocking stuffers.

None, not even knock-offs.

The ad says "you can carry in your pocket, purse or on a lanyard." I'm sorry, I'm not carrying that in my pocket. That's almost like carrying an open knife in your pocket. That's too close to the stuff I would like to keep intact. (If you know what I mean!)

Go into any military resale store. They have em there, at least all the ones in Houston do.
