That sounds like fun. I'll be bringing my big boy wheel gun if anyone wants to have their hands ripped off.

Well, let's all bring 1 or several of our heaters, and enough ammo to last for a while.
I look forward to shooting something different (other people's guns) and providing mine as well to others.

Re: DFW North/NorthEast Quadrant Breakfast
Today there were just 3 of us in attendance: bitterclinger, strogg, and myself. We just stayed at Rudy's Frisco for an hour, then headed down to DFW Gun Range on Mockingbird in Dallas.
We were there over 2 hours and shot all of our own and the others' guns. strogg's .50 caliber revolver requires thick gloves to shoot without bloodying your hands......I shot 1 terrifying round out of it, the recoil was a killer. If the range wants the bullet, they may have to pry it out of the ceiling, ha ha.
bitterclinger and I were quite fond of strogg's SR1911 in .45. Very easy to be accurate with that one.
strogg was a surprisingly good shot with my LCR .38.....the kid's got natural talent!! For compact .45's he preferred my XDS .45 to a SW Shield .45 that he had shot previously to today's session.
Other firearms we had: 2 FNX .45's, Rossi R971 (.357 revolver, 4" barrel), Ruger SR9C, XDS .45 3.3, FN 5.7 pistol, FN PS90 in 5.7.
Then bitterclinger knew a great local diner near the Dallas Market Center, where we had lunch, and finished off a good lead slinging day.
Next Saturday bitterclinger is taking a handgun course and I will be on vacation, so strogg will have to represent the Frisco boys at the Arlington breakfast.

Re: DFW North/NorthEast Quadrant Breakfast
Yesterday was fun. As SIA said, his XDS 45 was surprisingly easy to manage. There was a lot of recoil, but the grip was so good that muzzle flip was very minimal. I just wouldn't shoot more than a few mags at a time, though.
Thanks for coming out SIA and Bitter Clinger. And extra thanks for Bitter Clinger for his range membership. It was a nice quiet day over there.

bitterclinger:
Please bring your XDM 5.25" 9MM next time. I expect that one is a tack driver with minimal recoil.
I'd also like to try out your Glock 43. I promise not to shoot myself in the leg with it. :-)
You asked how long the barrel of my Ruger SR9C was. Ruger's site said 3.40", although I have generally seen it described in gun ads as 3.50".
I like my XDS 3.3" because it's a .45, but I am much more accurate with the Ruger, plus when I carry the SR9C as my primary it's 17 + 1 rounds instead of 5 + 1 or 7 + 1 (XDS45).
By the way, speaking of small differences, I find it kind of amusing that you can get Smith's now with either 3.6" or 4.0" barrels in the same model.
Smith and Wesson must have received a lot of screaming requests from the potential buyers for the one that is .4" shorter. :-)
