Utah College teacher unsuccessfully tries to shame lawful carry of firearms in classroom
The University of Utah reassigned a graduate assistant after her syllabus restricted students with concealed guns to a ‘Second Amendment zone’ in violation of state law and campus policy. The university reacted quickly, even if more should have been done.

Sounds like she was hoping to get a professorship at the other UT.
She should have been fired. If a TA, had said, you must stand in a "gender neutral" zone if you don't identify as either male or female, the response would have been swift, dismissal.

These liberals and SJWs will trample your rights to advance their agenda at any cost. For an educated person, the graduate assistant is extremely dumb. Imagine if the University said that anybody supporting open borders could not publish or speak such language anyplace on the University or with University equipment or on the University's time.
These people would have a seizure.

It is amazing to me that this person was dumb enough to fail to anticipate this outcome. I would bet that a majority of the Utah legislature has CHLs, many of them have kids that go to the U, and the legislature has been very supportive of campus carry.
At least it was a grad student and not a professor.

UTSA (and I think UT in general) effectively has instituted 2A zones for students who have LTCs and want to meet with their (snowflaky) professors. UTSA's policy under the campus carry law allows, in direct contradiction to the Texas AG's opinion, each individual professor who has a single occupant office to decide whether to allow carry in his/her/its/zhe's office. If the instructor does not allow carry in the professor's office, the professor must come up with another meeting place for LTC students.

Which is absolutely ridiculous since now:ELB wrote: ↑Wed Aug 22, 2018 5:11 pm UTSA (and I think UT in general) effectively has instituted 2A zones for students who have LTCs and want to meet with their (snowflaky) professors. (1) the professor knows that student is a LTC'er
(2) it will impact the student's grade
(3) the teacher still has to meet an 'armed' student, but you now have the additional 'hostility' (if you will) of both parties knowing that one is armed and another is (presumably) not.
All of this is beside the point that if a disgruntled student wanted to harm a professor, that little sign on the door wont stop it in the least bit.

And that is exactly the oxymoron they don't seem to understand. The only ones they are worried about are the ones that they don't need to worry about. Or maybe they know that as teachers their views and "lessons" will be opposite of those that believe in the constitution and self defense.PriestTheRunner wrote: ↑Wed Aug 22, 2018 5:53 pm All of this is beside the point that if a disgruntled student wanted to harm a professor, that little sign on the door wont stop it in the least bit.

I wonder how she was planning on identifying those carrying.

I was thinking "Ma'am only one of us has a gun and it won't be me getting in any box!"

Oops, did I accidentally carry into the office for the thesis meeting? Sorry. It just becomes invisible to me too and I don't know it's there just like you didn't know it's there professor Dumbola. Guess it's moot now since the meeting was days ago and you were none the wiser.
It's fine if you disagree. I can't force you to be correct.

Oh they understand perfectly. But in their screwed up ideology, an individual exercising responsible armed self-defense is a much greater threat than a common criminal or a mentally unstable student with an (in all likelihood) illegally possessed gun.Maxwell wrote: ↑Wed Aug 22, 2018 6:56 pmAnd that is exactly the oxymoron they don't seem to understand. ..PriestTheRunner wrote: ↑Wed Aug 22, 2018 5:53 pm All of this is beside the point that if a disgruntled student wanted to harm a professor, that little sign on the door wont stop it in the least bit.
