Anti-Gun Corporate Trends
"Corporations are entities that possess their own constitutional rights. Yet the NRA can seek to inform and persuade. Gun-rights proponents can invest in alternative platforms. Young conservatives can and should seek career paths in tech and other key industries to break up the monoculture.
In other words, while doing our best to make arguments in the here and now, it’s imperative for gun-rights proponents to play the corporate long game, just as they did in their remarkably successful 30-year campaign to liberalize gun laws."

Re: Anti-Gun Corporate Trends
It would be a stretch to suggest that banning anything related to guns makes a bank's transactions safer. I suspect that some of this is a policy holder over from the days of Eric Holder and Operation Choke point.
It is not without its consequence, however.

I got notice yesterday that Bass Pro was switching from Bank of America to Capitol One for their Credit\Rewards card. This is probably due to BofA stand against firearm sales.

Try this....
1. Go to Amazon.com
2. Search for "ted cruz 2018 sign"
3. See this ..... 5 pages of Beto shirts, not a single Cruz result.

Re: Anti-Gun Corporate Trends
That very switch was made with the Cabelas cards a almost a year ago, so it is not surprising that Bass Pro is doing the same - particularly now that they are the same company.gtolbert09 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 22, 2018 7:19 am I got notice yesterday that Bass Pro was switching from Bank of America to Capitol One for their Credit\Rewards card. Re: Anti-Gun Corporate Trends
I followed up on your post, and sure as heck, Amazon is doing this on both the mobile app platform and in browsers. Here's what I did about it.....
- I made screen shots on both my iPad and laptop.
- I phoned Amazon customer service to bring this to their attention, as a possible violation of FEC regulations. The CS rep I spoke to, located in area code 206 (Seattle) was unable to duplicate the results, so she asked for screen shots.
- I sent her the screen shots, and she was very surprised. She agreed that this deserved higher level attention, and referred my case up the chain. She said she was going to have Amazon's marketing department call me back in the next 24 hours to follow up.
- I told her that if they did NOT, I would be referring this to the FEC.
- I posted about it on my Twitter account, on my Facebook account, and on my website.

Re: Anti-Gun Corporate Trends
Strange but that only occurs with "Ted Cruz 2018 sign"
If you type "Ted Cruz yard sign" you are okay. Don't know if this is a corporate trend.

It may not be enough, but it is what I can do for now. This cannot stand.

I sent a note (email) to the Cruz campaign before posting that earlier.

Re: Anti-Gun Corporate Trends
now try:
Ted Cruz 2018
and then
Ted Cruz
Pretty crappy... you get 1 honest Cruz shirt and then a bunch of negative or (the other guy) results.

Re: Anti-Gun Corporate Trends
A friend of mine from the other side saw my post on facebook, and told me to check out www.betofortx.com. Cruz’s campaign is either fighting back, or they had already done the same kind of thing.
This is a trend in politics that I do not like one bit.

I don't like it either. But I certainly don't blame Ted.

If marijuana dispensaries can learn to live without banks, may gun makers and dealers can also.

But that was a solid cash ...*cough* "Industry" long before it became legal. The market was accustomed to cash-only as well as the buyers.
Firearms, not nearly as much.

Bankers are aware (scared) of peer to peer digital money transactions. So bankers say "hey, lets do something that speeds up this massively disruptive evolution". My pleasure.PriestTheRunner wrote: ↑Thu Aug 23, 2018 8:19 amBut that was a solid cash ...*cough* "Industry" long before it became legal. The market was accustomed to cash-only as well as the buyers.
