Re: ANTHONY KENNEDY IS RETIRING!
John (Liberal) McCain announces support for nominee. I think the world may be coming to an end. Why does McCain backing Kavanaugh make me wonder if he is a bad choice.

I am not sure there is any way I could feel better, short of winning the lotto. I am loving this.Flightmare wrote: ↑Tue Jul 10, 2018 1:43 amDoes this make you feel better?03Lightningrocks wrote: ↑Tue Jul 10, 2018 1:28 am John (Liberal) McCain announces support for nominee. I fear for the future of our country. On-the-street interviews with college students about Trump's choice...from last week before the choice was announced:

Re: ANTHONY KENNEDY IS RETIRING!
I almost hope the dems play games on this one so he can then nominate Hardiman (who is supposed to be the most 2a supportive person in the list). Followed by the statement that "with each successive pick, they will get more and more conservative!"
Re: ANTHONY KENNEDY IS RETIRING!
Chris Murphy is an enemy of the Second Amendment. I assume he is referring to AR15s as "assault weapons." He is either lying or he is ignorant. In either case not a good situation for a United States Senator. I am so glad I do not live in Connecticut, California, Maryland and all of those other gun-hating states.Flightmare wrote: ↑Tue Jul 10, 2018 1:43 amDoes this make you feel better?03Lightningrocks wrote: ↑Tue Jul 10, 2018 1:28 am John (Liberal) McCain announces support for nominee. I get the impression that the extreme leftist of the democrat party are believing Americans are in favor of stricter gun laws. Either they are severely out of their minds or as you say, just ignorant to reality.dlh wrote: ↑Tue Jul 10, 2018 8:37 amChris Murphy is an enemy of the Second Amendment. Good to know.03Lightningrocks wrote: ↑Mon Jul 02, 2018 1:07 pmHere is the most recent link on the story. The neighbor did plead guilty to assault. Just to be clear, I am not suggesting the guy should have assaulted a sitting US Congress Person. That is a NEVER do. But it does appear Rand was not being a "good neighbor".
Here is the link.

Dave Kopel on Kavanaugh

RTWT:No nominee to the U.S. Supreme Court has had such a detailed record on Second Amendment as does Brett Kavanaugh. His 2011 dissenting opinion in the case known as Heller II was consistent with his long-standing adherence to text, history, tradition, and Supreme Court precedent.

Are we certain ginsburg isn't a Disney animatronic?
As to Clarence Thomas's longevity, he's practically a teenager in comparison to the animatronic.
May he live long and prosper.

I would have preferred Kethledge (or Hardiman).mojo84 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 09, 2018 8:23 pmI guess you are pretty disappointed.RoyGBiv wrote: ↑Tue Jul 03, 2018 1:34 pm Re: Kavanaugh...
He's a non-starter for me...
https://www.dailywire.com/news/32411/ru ... en-shapiroKavanaugh upheld Obamacare in Sissel v. Department of Health and Human Services as well as in Seven-Sky v. Holder, in which he stated that the Obamacare penalties were actually “taxes.”
Kavanaugh's pro-2A ruling and several rulings against bureaucratic overreach are encouraging, but he appears to be reluctant to rein in domestic spying (warrantless data collection on US citizens) and was also deferential on the Obamacare "tax"...
Obviously he's light years ahead of Ginsburg, Kagan and Sotomayor on all of these things, but, Kethledge would have been my pick.
I am not a lawyer. This is NOT legal advice.!
