You've only been made once, that you know of. Not everyone who will makes someone else carrying will comment on it. I don't.FriscoKid wrote:As an LEO, I carried for 5 years before the CHL law was passed and have carried since, and I have only been made once - when I let my untucked shirt ride up over the handle of my gun while bending down to get something off the bottom shelf at a store. And the kid who made me just said, "Cool!" and walked off.

I have a Huge work Phone(Palm Treo 650) that really sticks out. I carry a crap load of Keys that bulge my pant pockets out, I have crap in my wallet that makes it about 2-3" thick. Then I have my Benchmade Mini-Rukus that bulges my front Right Pocket, then I have my personal Phone that also sticks out. When my CHL comes in I have no idea how I'm going to do it with a Colt full size 1911 and extra mag carrier.
Honestly with all the stuff I'm carrying I'm not worried about printing as my Palm TREO is thicker than my 1911. So it'll just even it out actually.
LOL to funny but I'm in the same boat except I carry a treo 755. I plan on carrying a ruger p345 .45. Not the easiest to conceal but I'm a big guy so I should be able to manage. Still sometimes a purse sure looks nice lol. Just kidding but in all seriousness have considered a back pack or fanny pack just to take all of that weight out of my pockets weighing me down. I swear I'm carrying the minimum I can get away with to.
The wait is on!!!

I had a conversation on this subject with a Constable and a Houston PD this morning at a local Valero. Both of the gentlemen stated that even if I were wearing tight fitting clothing and it was very noticeable, as long as the handgun was covered they would consider it concealed. Now, with my well over 50's build, I don't plan to don any skin tight under armor just to prove them right. I will also take a zero on the speedo at the beach.

I'd wear a Speedo on a dare...
Not sure if anyone who saw me would be able to hold down solid food for a week or so afterwards... Laughing so hard...
I might be able to wear a Bersa at the 4 o'clock position in the thong area...
Not sure where I'd tuck a spare mag though...hmmmm, going to have to think about that issue some...

That is exactly the case with me. I carry a Blackberry for work and my wife says it makes me symetrical again! I just received my MTAC from Comp-Tac for my 5" 1911 and it is great. It conceals well and it is comfortable. If you are going to carry a 1911 I highly reccomend you find a holster that has some type of sheild between you and the gun such as the MTAC. That safety can really get irritating against your skin.RubenZ wrote: Honestly with all the stuff I'm carrying I'm not worried about printing as my Palm TREO is thicker than my 1911. My wife used to tell me that she could tell when I was carrying in my right front pants pocket. So one day I put my wallet in that pocket and she said, "I can see your gun." I pulled out my wallet, showed it to her, and she's never said anything since.
A well-designed pocket holster will prevent most compact guns from printing. I carry in a Desantis Nemesis and it keeps my S&W 642 from printing in almost any type of pants. The only trouble is that the gun is is about 6 3/8" long and that's longer than the pockets of my Wrangler jeans so I have to wear a shirt untucked if I'm wearing them. My Kahr PM9 is only 5 5/8" long and it fits in the Wranglers with no problems. Also, the Kahr is more than 1/4" thinner than the S&W, so that makes it easier to conceal as well.
I agree that most people will probably not know you're carrying a weapon IWB unless you bend over to the point where it completely exposes the gun. For me, though, IWB doesn't work too well. I'm short, so when I sit down the gun starts to poke me in places I don't want to be poked! And, I'm "stocky" (my wife's polite word for fat), so it's pretty uncomfortable.
Crash.

I go to church with a friend who is a police officer and who knows I carry. One day at a church function he said, "I didn't know you were left handed." I looked at him kind of strange and asked him why he would think that. "Well, I can see the bulge of your gun on your left side."
I did indeed have my gun on, but it was on my right side. My point? Even people who know don't always know.
