So let's talk about the only truly inspired pistol, the JMB version of 1911.

TexasCHLforum is just fine without OT discussions imho.
Another +1 for no OT forum, for the reasons previously mentioned. Namely it could lead us down a road that would degrade the quality of CHL and gun related discussions that we currently enjoy here.

Interesting answers.

The prevailing thought seems to be against any type of "chat" room. I have no problem with that. Perhaps it is best to simply exchange ideas about a subject that we are largely in agreement about (Firearms/CHL).

I would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and replies.

Chat Room

#20

Post by tfrazier »

How about a real-time chat room dedicated to CHL and 2nd amendment discussion? Since this is a pure discussion board system, I'm trying to come up with some other communication tools that everyone would like over at CHLGrapevine. I've set up a public chat room but not putting the word out for anyone other than my own site members and all my buddies here at TexasCHLForum. If you want to try it out click here to go to the CHL Grapevine live chat room.

Your link isn't working; all I get is a page full of warnings that the function has crashed? :confused5

All guns have at least two safeties. One's digital, one's cognitive. In other words - keep the digit off the trigger until ready to fire, and THINK. Some guns also have mechanical safeties on top of those. But if the first two don't work, the mechanical ones aren't guaranteed. - me

You're right. The database crashed again...back to the drawing board. I'll update when the bugs are fixed.
UPDATE - Did a db repair and restart and it's working again, but don't know for how long. Still trying to find root cause. Mithras61 stopped in and chatted for a few minutes and the db was stable and up the whole time. He's using Opera. I'm starting to suspect it's crashing when someone using Microsoft IE 6.x types a message in the chat room since I'm using FireFox and no one using IE 7 has had a problem either. If anyone out there confirms that, let me know please.

Sorry, Tim - the chat room froze on me and wouldn't let me re-load the page to get back in. I did enjoy chatting with you for a few minutes, though!

Fiber Issue

#24

Post by tfrazier »

I know...Verizon's fiber demarc unit at my house failed. Turns out it was on the fritz off and on all day and that's what was causing my db connections to fail. They are coming out tomorrow evening to replace it and both my sites should be back on line then. I enjoyed the chat too.
