argyle, huh? it definitely looks nice! if i was gonna go all the way to argyl ei'd probably just head over to lewisville to Eagle Gun Range. they have something like 24 lanes all indoors. not sure if they have rifle lanes or not tho. https://www.eaglegunrangetx.com/

Lewisville has no rifle and all lanes are divided between two rooms, IMHO it's an okay place to shoot pistol to 25 yards
407 has 100 yard rifle lanes with shot video so you can see where you hit without retrieval, pistol range goes out to 50 yards. All wheelchair accessible I believe, a little more expensive and you only rent by the hour but a fun place to shoot.
And i have no affiliation with 407 gun club whatsoever, just a fan.

hmm that definitely sounds like a nice place. I'll keep it on my "gun range bucket list" lolmrbc wrote:Lewisville has no rifle and all lanes are divided between two rooms, IMHO it's an okay place to shoot pistol to 25 yards

Try it out, it is a subterranean range.

I have only been once and it was $20 -- I think if you do a full day they charge more, but I did a half day I think. Also, if we brought several people im sure we could get a group rate. It's a mom and pop place and they are pretty coolGrundy1133 wrote:$40 range fee?! thats insane.... thats the most expensive range fee ive ever seen.TexasJohnBoy wrote:http://bigboartactical.com/

I gotcha. that's pretty cool. i like smaller ranges. its a more personal experience. the one in lewisville is $20 all day range fee. the one in sherman is $13/hour ($10/hour with membership) and im not sure about the one in sanger... couldnt find too much info on it. are outdoor ranges really that much better? i imagine during summer it'd be way too hot.TexasJohnBoy wrote:I have only been once and it was $20 -- I think if you do a full day they charge more, but I did a half day I think. Indoor ranges have their advantages, and outdoor ones have theirs. In the summer it does get hot for sure.Grundy1133 wrote:I gotcha. that's pretty cool. i like smaller ranges. its a more personal experience. the one in lewisville is $20 all day range fee. the one in sherman is $13/hour ($10/hour with membership) and im not sure about the one in sanger... couldnt find too much info on it. are outdoor ranges really that much better? i imagine during summer it'd be way too hot.TexasJohnBoy wrote:I have only been once and it was $20 -- I think if you do a full day they charge more, but I did a half day I think. The public range in Sanger is about as mom and pop as you can get (http://www.texaschlforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=86480) but it's not too bad. It's more of the stand (or sit) at the line and shoot, whereas Big Boar allows you a little more freedom to move around or set up multiple targets.

Re: North Texas Meet up?
I've spoken to one of the owners who is a local LEO, I don't recall which agency though. That is one of their bread and butter things, but they are working on expanding their offerings, or so they were when I went in the Fall, I see no reason why that would be different now. I need to get out there, but time is premium these days....Grundy1133 wrote: so big boar has more of a training course feel to it. thats how goin firearms in marysville is. http://goinfirearmsandshooting.com/
