A prominent Republican political donor demanded on Saturday that the party pass legislation to restrict access to guns, and vowed not to contribute to any candidates or electioneering groups that did not support a ban on the sale of military-style firearms to civilians.

Al Hoffman Jr., a Florida-based real estate developer who was a leading fund-raiser for George W. Bush’s campaigns, said he would seek to marshal support among other Republican political donors for a renewed assault weapons ban.

“For how many years now have we been doing this — having these experiences of terrorism, mass killings — and how many years has it been that nothing’s been done?” Mr. Hoffman said in an interview. “It’s the end of the road for me.”

Bush is not running nor will be, so we dont care if he refuses to donate to Bushs non campaign every again.
There has not been a "Assault weapon " for sale openly to a public individual in a lot of years, many years before such a phrase even existed.
The Non assault weapon ban was PROVEN to be completely ineffective and had no measurable deterrence in crime.
Im very ok with this and most EVERY political doner refusing to donate to any campaigns... Imaging that, we elect political leaders based on what that have done which will be public knowledge

The Republican National Committee has no debt and raised over twice as much as the their Democratic counterparts. For 2017, the RNC raised $132.5 million to the DNC’s $65.9 million. Regarding cash on hand, the RNC has close to $40 million ($38.8 million to be exact), while the DNC only has $6.3 million.

Today, we learned that in addition to multiple additional red flags flapping, the FBI received a specific threat tip about the Florida school shooter -- who seems to have been very well known to local law enforcement, too -- in early January. Weeks later, the deranged young man became a spree murderer. What happened? We don't know full details yet, but the feds are acknowledging that "protocols were not followed." This is absolutely infuriating:...
