Sources say high school

Authorities are investigating an incident at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland.

Chopper4 was at the school located at 5901 Pine Island Road over reports of a shooting.

A number of people could be seen being loaded into ambulances on a stretcher.

From Fox News: The Sheriff says, "the suspect is in custody." The suspect has been transferred to the hospital. According to Senator Bill Nelson (D-FL), "many are dead."

Officials have not confirmed how many people may have been killed; 20 to 50 people were injured, according to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office.

Sen. Bill Nelson said there are “many deaths” in the school shooting.

The school is now waiting for authorities to give the “all clear.”

The former student suspected of opening fire at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland may been identified a potential threat to fellow students in the past, according to one teacher.

The 19-year-old ex-student, who has been detained by Broward police, has not been publicly identified as a suspect. But a law-enforcement source identified him as Nicolas Cruz.

“We were told last year that he wasn’t allowed on campus with a backpack on him,” said math teacher Jim Gard, who said Cruz had been in his class last year. “There were problems with him last year threatening students, and I guess he was asked to leave campus.”

Sources told CBS4’s Jim DeFede that as many as 7 people are dead and at least 14 people have been injured in the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.

A senior official said the shooter, a former student, used a rifle but may have also had a handgun.

“Student” was not a student of the school and is 19 years old. There is a YouTube of the student s hiding in a classroom when he comes in shooting. (Have a thick skin in you search it) BEWARE

1 teacher that was ARMED could have stopped it quickly. People keep asking about the response times of the LEOs.

Ha! 20 years ago when I was in high school in houston he had 2 shootings (not deadly) and many knife stabbings (also not deadly) all in one year!

I would bet it is probably correct. But you have to look at year over year statics. And then ask how any were not reported.
