Re: Not watching the Superbowl
I haven't watched in years and now I wouldn't start if you held a gun to my head.
Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passions, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence. - John Adams

Re: Not watching the Superbowl
Not watching for the first time since around 1970. Could care less about either team (especially tired of NE); but as others have said the straw that broke the camels back was the rejection of the Veterans group ad. Even most of the commercials were lame last year.

Same here. I have been watching every year that I can remember. I did skip it the year I was in Saudi during Desert Storm. The NFL's hypocritical position on "political messages" was the final straw. It also doesn't hurt that the most prolific cheaters in NFL history are one of the teams playing.Pete92FS wrote:Not watching for the first time since around 1970. Yeah, they didn't really seem to care about political messages in the super bowl ads last year...Soccerdad1995 wrote:Same here. I have been watching every year that I can remember. I'm sure that none of the ads will be political this year, right? right?
That ads aren't even impressive anymore anyway, because it's too easy to create a good ad with modern technology. It's just about celebrity cameos for the most part now, and the majority of Americans don't care for the Hollywood elites anymore either.

Re: Not watching the Superbowl
You are not alone brother. I have seen every Super Bowl since the Ice Bowl. I will not watch this year. And anyone that claims Constitutional right to free speech is a hypocrite for disrespecting Constitution with their ungrateful, unpatriotic behavior during the National Anthem. Feeding that socialist machine - which includes network television and their complicit advertisers - is treason as far as I am concerned.

Re: Not watching the Superbowl
I wasn't going to watch it and after the NFL rejected the AmVet ad in the game program I'm boycotting the sponsors.

Re: Not watching the Superbowl
I haven't been watching since last season, once it became clear that the coaches, owners, and the league weren't going to discipline players for insulting this nation while in team uniforms with NFL logos.
I might watch the Puppy Bowl, though. Less talk, more said.

The sooner I get behind, the more time I have to catch up.

No games for me this year, maybe next season if they stop their stupid antics. I enjoy college ball much more anyway.
