What were your gun related Christmas gifts?

I was very lucky this year. My sweet bride bought me the Kel-tec P3AT that I've been wanting.

My sweet wife bought me two holsters. One for my G-26 and on for my G-30.

We didn't have a single gun-related gift this year... it was an odd year for us.

But come tax refund time, I'll be eyeing something new. Something that goes "bang". And hopefully it will be a small black pistol from our good Canadian friends, one that holds 10+1 .45 ACP.

Nothing here that goes bang for Christmas but lots of stuff that surrounds them. My cleaning supplies were really well stocked. I should not have to buy any cleaning supplies for 6 months or so. Solvent, brushes for everything, lubs, patches, a full stock. Mother (75) is the one that cleaned up on the "related stuff" though. She got a new soft case for her August birthday rifle, Rem. 700 25-06, & a cleaning kit. The grandson gave her that. I think I got the most unique gift I have ever received. It is close to my CHL renewal time. I got a thank you card from daughter & son-in-law w/ the fee for renewal class. I think that is creative thinking for gifts. When you are 55 there is not much you "need". I got another one that was a blessing too. One of the youth in our church has wanted to shoot my M1A. I cleared it w/ his Mom. (No dad, suicide 4 yr ago.) Gave some instruction Sat. morning at the house then took him to the range. He shot about 60 rounds in 2 & half hours. Started loading one at a time. After a couple, he could hold a 6" bulls eye at 50 yds. We were by ourselves & outdoor range. At the 100 yd range we have burms at 25, 50, & 100 yrds. Before it was over I had given him a drill where he loaded 4 mags with 3 each. Ingaged 3 seperate 4" bulls eye targets at 50, 100, 25, then back at 50 for 3- 2" targets. Don't get in a hurry. Acquire targets & hit what you shoot at. He did well all the time at 25 & 50 but he said 100 was a long way off through that little hole. Maybe my best Christmas present was the smile on his face as we left. It is worth the time investing in a kids life.

longtooth, that sounds like a Christmas gift worth giving. In addition to the shooting skills, it is a gift that will stay with the young man for years to come. As much joy as he received from that afternoon, he'll never know how much he gave you. The smile of youngster after pulling the trigger is worth more than a safe full of guns and can last a lifetime. Thanks for being such a positive influence for our younger generations.

I only got something to silence the bang. New ear muff/ W radio.

My youngest daughter on the trip back from college told me she wanted to do some shooting over the holidays. She wanted some practice because when she turns 21 (3 yrs) she wanted to be ready for her test. Kinda shocking since she has only been a long gun shooter before. We spent a nice Christmas day shooting multiple guns with Greybeard and his daughter on a full stomach. The best part was she liked the Macaroff best over a lot more expensive guns. It was a good day. The smell of turkey and gun powder all in one afternoon.

Good job eagleeye. I like it when the girls shoot too. I am on the other end of the stick. My Mom (75 now) just loaned her pistol out to a friend (61 real young) so she could get her CHL. She has shot moms enough that she wants one just like it. When Mom goes w/ me & the wife I am well guarded. Surrounded by well armed beautiful women. Both are 24-7 ladies. I like it when the ladies shoot too.

Actually got this a few days before Christmas, but my wife says it is a Christmas present anyway.......

S&W Model 686 + 7 rounds, 357 2 1/2 inch stainless

also got a nice set of Hogue rosewood grips and a low profile white dot rear sight to accessorize the 686..

Now I have 3 Glocks and 2 S&W revolvers to alternate carry.

Decisions, decisions..... which one to carry today ????

No guns since I have the addicting tendency to give myself gifts of firearms all year long if I so fancy one.

I did receive a Fobus KM3 holster for my Kimber, and a Fobus ankle holster for my P3AT's. I find myself leaning towards the Kydex holsters. I like the way they hold the weapon. The positive "snap" when the pistol seats is assuring for some reason.

I ask for a Kel-Tec PLR-16 but the wife said I had already bought 7 guns this year (5 were P-3ATs). I countered that she had claimed 3 of them. She quickly relented as said that after I bought her a small notebook computer as my present to her, I could have the rest of our $2,500 Christmas Savings to buy me a gift from her.

By the time the sales folks got through showing her all the whistles and bells on the 17� super duper multi media wireless internet models I couldn’t afford a box of .22 shells.
