What would a retired sniper be doing with a M 24?

I am not and have never been a LEO. My avatar is in honor of my friend, Dallas Police Sargent Michael Smith, who was murdered along with four other officers in Dallas on 7.7.2016.

It's just an optimized Remington 700. You can buy them on GunBroker.WTR wrote:What would a retired sniper be doing with a M 24?

Well, dang it. It would have been a great news article if it were REAL.Wolfgang wrote:This from the disclaimer page of the website:

So we've all been hearing a lot about "fake news" in the real (?) news lately, but I guess I did not realize that it was such an evolved industry as this.
I don't get it. Somebody explain it to me, seriously. What's the purpose? Somebody goes to a lot of expense and trouble to operate these fake news businesses. For what? Money? Aren't there better and more honorable and easier ways to make money? And no, I'm not upset that I got snookered (well, not too much anyway). I just really don't understand the purpose of it.
Showing my age I suppose...
