What I think it calls for is two things:Vol Texan wrote:And yet we need to remember:Mxrdad wrote:A statement is not going to work for me, I already know what they will say. The real action is terminating all those employees that participated in this disgraceful act. I dont frequent Wendys that much to begin with but sure wont be going there if they don't fire these degenerates. And yet, if they were being held hostage, I bet they would LOVE to see an officer then huh? This Wendy's restaurant may have been a franchise location. If it was, then the franchise owner is the one who is responsible to act, and Wendy's corporate may not have sufficient authority to require it.
Whether the local franchise owner chooses to fire (or not to fire) the degenerates shouldn't be a reflection on the franchise owner for the Wendy's down the street from me here in Houston.
I'm not a patron of Wendy's all that often, but I recognize that a knee-jerk reaction that punishes all local owners due to the action or inaction of another owner is not entirely warranted. I suggest let's learn more about the situation before making blanket statements condemning an entire industry simply because they share a common license.
- A statement from the parent corporation that this kind of behavior will not be tolerated from the employees of its franchisees, backed up with a memo to all franchisees that infractions of this kind can result in revocation of the franchise.
- The local franchisee should fire all the employees who were on the clock on that shift, including the manager, who obviously condoned it. The few days his shop would be closed during those hours as he/she restaffs that shift would be a smaller loss than the permanent loss of business resulting from a failure to rectify the situation.
I do agree with Vol Texan that just because the Wendy's in Fort Worth where this happened is staffed and managed by degenerates, that doesn't mean that the Wendy's a half-mile from my house in Grapevine is equally unworthy of my business. The Fort Worth franchisee can redeem himself according to how he follows up on this. Or not. If not, then that's a location I'll never give my business to. That may be irrelevant as I'm almost never down in that part of Fort Worth, but that's my 2¢.
Here's the location of the Wendy's in question: https://www.google.com/maps/place/Wendy ... d-97.37628
