this :iagree: :mad5
A statement is not going to work for me, I already know what they will say. The real action is terminating all those employees that participated in this disgraceful act. I dont frequent Wendys that much to begin with but sure wont be going there if they don't fire these degenerates. And yet, if they were being held hostage, I bet they would LOVE to see an officer then huh? Shameful.
And yet we need to remember:

This Wendy's restaurant may have been a franchise location. If it was, then the franchise owner is the one who is responsible to act, and Wendy's corporate may not have sufficient authority to require it.

Whether the local franchise owner chooses to fire (or not to fire) the degenerates shouldn't be a reflection on the franchise owner for the Wendy's down the street from me here in Houston.

I'm not a patron of Wendy's all that often, but I recognize that a knee-jerk reaction that punishes all local owners due to the action or inaction of another owner is not entirely warranted. I suggest let's learn more about the situation before making blanket statements condemning an entire industry simply because they share a common license.
What I think it calls for is two things:
  1. A statement from the parent corporation that this kind of behavior will not be tolerated from the employees of its franchisees, backed up with a memo to all franchisees that infractions of this kind can result in revocation of the franchise.
  2. The local franchisee should fire all the employees who were on the clock on that shift, including the manager, who obviously condoned it. The few days his shop would be closed during those hours as he/she restaffs that shift would be a smaller loss than the permanent loss of business resulting from a failure to rectify the situation.
Here's my reasoning...... If I am a business owner who employs people, I don't much care what their personal politics are. But I WILL NOT TOLERATE those politics chasing away my customers. They're not my employee's customers, they're MY customers. You want to work for me, you'll treat ALL of my customers with dignity and respect, regardless of their skin color, ethnicity, religion, job, or the uniform they wear.

I do agree with Vol Texan that just because the Wendy's in Fort Worth where this happened is staffed and managed by degenerates, that doesn't mean that the Wendy's a half-mile from my house in Grapevine is equally unworthy of my business. The Fort Worth franchisee can redeem himself according to how he follows up on this. Or not. If not, then that's a location I'll never give my business to. That may be irrelevant as I'm almost never down in that part of Fort Worth, but that's my 2¢.

Here's the location of the Wendy's in question: https://www.google.com/maps/place/Wendy ... d-97.37628

I was a fast food GM for a long time. I would fire the employees (few) that were directly involved, Have a "First Responders Day" (give out some free food or 1/2 off) and move on. I'm telling ya'll, it is VERY HARD to to find good help for $7.25.

TAM said it sooooo much better than I did. I think its wise to get more details as to whether this is indeed a Franchise, and too see what actions the Parent Company is willing to take, along with what the Franchisee takes. 1 thing is clear, that particular location has some issues that need to be ironed out. I will await judgment to see how this thing unfolds. (Not that my opinion matters, I have never spent any money at that location). I do hope the locals proceed accordingly.
Just some guy's opinion.

The Wendy's employees should be fired.

Right after Dallas and Fort Worth fire every cop who enforced 30.06/07 signs on taxpayer funded property.

unfortunate misunderstanding.
Misunderstanding? What did the employees misunderstand? That their actions might have repercussions? Did they misunderstand they might get caught?
Or is Wendy's claiming the officer "misunderstood" the actions and attitude he was presented with? What they were just all on break at the same time and the officer "misunderstood" that as refusing to serve him? :totap:

I dint think your help would be any different at $15.00.
