Waco-area man finds out carrying at school stadium = no-no
Seems like one Waco-area CHL'er didn't pay attention in class...

Note: the offender, in this case, was also apparently inebriated, and after being given a way out by the officer, decided to argue with the SRO. Note to self: don't argue with the Poh-Poh, especially if you are armed and drunk!

A certifiable doofus. He is lucky that he didn't get shot.

The fact that the article even said the officer gave him the opportunity to return the firearm to his vehicle speaks loudly. He should have complied without arguing.parabelum wrote:A certifiable doofus. He is lucky that he didn't get shot.

I guess the number of LTC holders will now be reduced by 1.
I just hope that if he has a child in the WISD, they don't inherit the same reduced, mental capacity gene that is obviously dominant in that person.

While unfortunate, it gives me another example to add to my "don't be this guy/gal" stories for my LTC classes.

I can see it now... "But they told me on Facebook that I could !! "....
More than likely his buddies at the bar, where he stopped, before heading to the game.

That should be on a poster or something...AndyC wrote:Scott B. wrote:While unfortunate, it gives me another example to add to my "don't be this guy/gal" stories for my LTC classes.
Some people's sole purpose on this earth seems to be to serve as a horrible warning to others.
Also, this one seems relevant

"Police confirmed that Sampson does have a valid concealed handgun license..."
What sort of offense is carrying at a school event? I find myself hoping it's enough to yank his card for life. Dean Wormer's advice, if the photo is a good indication, applies. Fat, drunk, and stupid is no way to go through life.
As a person of momentum myself, I mean no offense to those who overachieve when providing shade to their less nourished brethren.

He's an easy twofer example, 46.03 Places Weapons Prohibited - third degree felony AND 46.035(d) Intoxication - class A misdemeanor...treadlightly wrote:...What sort of offense is carrying at a school event? I find myself hoping it's enough to yank his card for life...
Conviction for an offense under 46.035 is grounds for revocation by itself.

Re: Waco-area man finds out carrying at school stadium = no-no
Here is a big red flag. The officer was going to let him go. The perp was dense and found himself arrested. If I were the officer, I would not have charged him with Public Intox. The first thing the defense attorney is going to ask is "If he was drunk, why were you going to allow him to leave with a weapon in his possession?".
