Bitter Clinger,

When I go from one room to the next, I'm lucky if I remember, once I get there, why I went there to begin with...and I'm not kidding.

Now, what are we talking about?

Also, when I ask for suggestions, I might find new information.

It'll especially be new if I forgot all about it the first time I heard it...

No one has mentioned Hoppes # 9 I don't know how available the spray can is but it came with a boresnake kit I bought works pretty good. I use a little white grease on sliding parts .. and oil to lube everything else. Although I clean After every range trip and at least once a month. I'm not particularly finicky about thoroughness.

You are not alone, for those who have ADHAD can relate very well. Advise, Back-track and you will get back in sync. :thumbs2: :thumbs2:

This is me too. Even if I know my gun can run thousands of rounds without being cleaned, I just can't stand "knowing" it's dirty in there.

Back to the OP's question. I have currently been using Gunzilla CLP because it's what was laying around when I ran out of MPro7. It works. But I prefer MPro7, just haven't gotten around to getting more yet. It's roughly around $32 for a big spray bottle.

Ryan,

That is pricey, but I'll pay it if it's effective.

Heck, I bought "Fireclean" and it too is pricey, but as to it's getting gunk out, nah...

Unless you start finding your glasses in the freezer, your watch in the flowerpot or other objects in strange places I would not worry. :smilelol5:

Well, I guess it could be worse:

I usually use Break-Free CLP or Ballistol as a solvent--for hard jobs use Hoppe's Elite. Mobile1 synthetic in a needle oiler is a great lubricant for slides and hard to reach places. Same with Silver Bullet Gun Oil although the p.c. crowd will object to it for other reasons.

Back in the sixties when I was a teenager I liberally sprayed my firearms with WD-40. Since then I have read while WD-40 is a satisfactory solvent it is not a good lubricant as it leaves a "gummy residue" over time. I am no chemical engineer and have done no testing but I no longer use the WD-40 because of that.

I enjoy cleaning my firearms. It is an easy way for me to "get into the zone" and relax. Much more fun than mowing the grass.
Please know and follow the rules of firearms safety.

I guess I'll piggy back on this thread - what about a copper solvent? on some of my older firearms I've got some decent copper deposits in the barrel I'd like to clean up.
