Did you go with the strong side TRUSS or the cross draw? That seems mighty high to do a strong side draw...

I also thought that the gun was pretty high for a strong side draw.

I got the cross draw version. I'm sitting all of the time - In my car, in the bus, and at work - so I figured drawing cross draw was the fastest and easiest for me. Also, since I wear a suit, I'd have two things to clear with the strong side draw: the coat must move back and shirt must move up. That problem also existed with my tuckable IWB holster. I also wear a tie so I get to leave two buttons unbottoned for easy access (I think I got that idea from here).

Now it's time to practice practice practice.

One thing I forgot to mention is that it's a bit hot underneath when I'm outside with it. But since I'm sitting in AC most of the day, it's not a big deal.

My biggest problem with going cross draw is that I couldn't use it for IDPA - and I really would like to practice with my normal carry gear... Otherwise I would have no problem with cross draw in this application. I might still try the strong side and let you know.

HI All,

Years ago, I worked for a holster store. Yep a store of nothing but holsters, or just about. We had over 300 differnet models. I worked with Aker Leather products on a Shoulder Holster that was great for under shirts and vests. Cameron called it the Comfort Flex, me I loved it when he made them in swade leather. It rode flater. I dont think he does that anymore but take a look at this one.

Comfort-Flex® 101 for autos or the 201 for Revolvers.. its under CONCEALMENT>holsters

MBGuy - you have had the holster for about a week now. How do you like it? Strengths and weaknesses? Do you wish you went strong side?

I'm still seriously considering one...

No, crossdraw is just fine. I can't imagine strong draw where I would have move my suit coat aside, then pull up my dress shirt, then access the gun as high as it is with this setup. I'd pretty much lose the element of surprise as long as that would take.

Strengths:
With two or three buttons unbuttoned on my shirt, I can reach in easily. Unbuttoned buttons are covered by the tie.
Well made it seems like, and infinitely adjustable. I'm still making adjustments.
It's very hard to notice that I'm carrying with careful poofing up (technical term) of the shirt on both sides so that you look symetrical.

Cons:
Hot when outside walking to bus stop and waiting on bus or getting in hot car. Since this is only a few minutes a day and we're talking July/August here, this is not a deal breaker.
If you have a beer gut as I do, it attempts to ride up on top of it. It doesn't move the position of the gun when it does this, but it's a bit weird feeling.

Overall much better than a tuckable waist holster poking me all day long as I sit. Since I'm sitting 95% of my day, this is MUCH MUCH better!

I'm looking forward to the Andrew's Leather Monarch to take care of being hot. I'm hoping that horizontal positioning is still as concealable as this vertical positioning is, and I'll definitely need to use the TRUSS when wearing a white dress shirt, which is about once a week. Well worth $59 in my opinion, and shipping was super fast.

I am waiting to hear your opinion of the Monarch Rig. I've been considering one for about a year now.

I have just about gotten all the good out of my Galco Miami Classic (almost 11 years of carrying with it).

Let me know how yours works out, I may be ordering one also.

I have this vision of a bug with a truss....

I tried to order a TRUSS as well, and found out that yes, the box does need to be check off in order to proceed with the ordering process. Like you, I decided to just skip it....

I haven't tried to order it yet... what box are you talking about? Will they only sell to LEOs for some reason?

There is a "check" box on the information page just after you complete your address, phone number, etc. It reads Law enforcement or security, or something to that effect. If you don't check it you can't proceed with payment information.
