Good to hear of other 3913 fans! I got mine used a few years ago after reading so many glowing reviews. Mine is my EDC. Great pistol. Just need to find more mags for it.

I am looking for a single stack 9 to complement my recent purchase of an XD Mod 2 3.3" 9mm in FDE. I am leaning towards a Springfield XDS, but am also considering a M&P Shield. Both look to be great guns.

My BIL has the XDs9 and I have the Shield 9

As you already have the XD mod2, it's almost natural to want to go to the XDs9

However, if you shoot them both, at least in my opinion, the Shield 9 is a much better gun
Softer/easier trigger
Smoother backstrap, more comfortable

The two single stack 9mms I own are the Beretta Nano (6+1 and 8+1) and the Sig P290RS (also 6+1 and 8+1).

Both smaller than the Shield and pocketable if that matters.

Mine are both perfectly reliable with Speer 124 grain +P Gold Dots and Winchester 115 grain +P+ Rangers.

A desire to pocket carry a 9mm is very limiting. There is also the Kimber solo. But you're not gonna get a full hand grip on it.

To get a full grip, you likely give up the ability to pocket carry.

That said. I carry a Sig P239. It's a single stack DA/SA 9mm 8+1 that is too big to pocket carry, but easily concealable IWB and is the perfect grip length to get the pinky on.

Also, there's the Taurus 709 slim 6+1, you might be able to get it in a pocket, but won't be able to get a pinky on the grip.

Count me in on the S&W 3913 fans. It is what I normally carry off duty and no.... I do not carry it in my pocket.

I really like my SA XDS 4". I have all 3 magazines for it, 7, 8, and 9 rounds. I use the 8 for EDC and the 9 for the range.
