So, just what name brand and model of semi automatic 12 g shotgun did dear old dad purchase? I'm in the market for a new semi auto and would be interested in the particulars of your dad's gun.

Thanks,
Joe
I'll get the particulars on it for you later today Joe. It was sweet to shoot for sure.

I don't care for snakes in or close to my house either. that's why I leave strategic trash piles around my property. the neighbors are none too thrilled about the "aesthetics" of the place, but, hey I was here first.

The dogs do too....yuck. But 5.5 acres, I'm sure there are plenty of slitheries out there. Just don't come into my house/garage. Same with spiders or BEgs for that matter. I have my territory they have there's. Just living by animal kingdom rules, you invade my territory you end up like Mr snake.
You are living in their territory !
TO me that just disrupts nature and hate when people do things like that .
The house is 30 years old. Pretty sure it was a human territory before any snakes here today were born. We humans a predators and PART of the cycle. If you take humans out of the cycle, then everything we do disrupts nature....you do drive a car right? You do take advantage of electric light and the internet? And you don't think those things impact nature? Give me a break.

Thanks ST. I can't wait to set up some milk jugs etc and shoot the shotgun again lol. May have to tho. Don't want to tempt dad into reinjuring his shoulder. May have to settle for taking out the .22 for awhile longer. I miss shooting with him. Daddy daughter bonding time at it's finest.

Keep shooting them snakes Texas Tornado. The people who whine about you doing so aren't gonna pay the hospital bill if you or your loved ones get bit by a venomous snake and they aren't replacing any lost loves ones.

It's a Mossberg 930 Blackwater tactical shotgun.

The hawks and owls around my parents house kill a whole lot more snakes than my brother and I ever did growing up. Keeping poisonous snakes away from the house isn't going to impact their population much.

If you are concerned about recoil, the CCI 22 Mag snake shot works great out of the little H&R single action revolvers. Works well and groups pretty good at about 4 to 6 feet.

I've actually never gotten to fire a revolver. Will have to rectify that. I was shocked how little recoil dad's shotgun had. Made me completely reevaluate the shotgun species.

Road runners keep the serpent population in check where I live, I have at least 12 nesting pairs that I have seen within a couple of miles. Every time I see one it seems like they have a snake in their beak.

Sweet!

That's the same as my shotgun, except for the pistol grip and a few minor touches.

I have a Benelli Nova for dove hunting. Thing shoots like a dream and I've never had any issues with bruises. Even with magnum 12 GA loads. I carefully researched shotguns for months before deciding on that particular one.

To be fair, I'm built a little bigger than most females so it may not bother me as much. Either way, I'm super pumped for Thursday when dove season starts here so I can spend some quality time with that shotgun.
