The gop lost the last two elections with the worst president in history in the White House. You knew I was talking about presidential elections. Klin-ton will be the next president for two terms. The majorities in the house and senate are useless since you did not provide any evidence that they neutralize zed the tyrant in chief. The gop cannot win the White House.
Not to quibble, but the worst President in history wasn't in the White House yet the first time. He was "clean and articulate," it was "historic" and the GOP did not really field a major league slate.

As Mark Steyn points out, it's hard to elect a conservative government in a liberal culture, as those terms have come to be used in contemporary parlance.

With around 50% of folks getting a check from a gov entity of some kind, the GOP is done forever.

You know any gov workers / retirees / researchers who are Republicans ?
The big money folks back the Dems after buying them off.

The forgiving student debt and making college free will push the Dems over the top this time and forevermore.
You may have the last word.

If that is the selling point, forevermore may not be as long as it used to be.

This page changes constantly, but right now their prediction is trump at a ~53% chance to win vs Clinton ~47%

This was drastically different before both conventions.

Most retirees I know are Republican. I believe two that I know are staunchly Democrat. I'm no representative cross section, but that puts the retirees I know massively on the conservative side of the spectrum, to the tune of around 90%.

LEOs are government workers, right? I don't live in incorporated Houston, and know only a couple of HPD officers casually. If I had to guess, I'd say one is mildly liberal, one is mildly conservative. I do know a few Harris County deputies fairly well, and I'm pretty sure not one of them classify themselves as Democrats.

I just happen to fit into the group you're condemning, but I take exception to your implication.

My wife and I receive checks from three different "gov entities"... Military Retirement, Veterans Administration. and Social Security. I/we paid in full for all of those.

Republican? Not in the way the party has defined itself in recent years. When asked, I state that I am a Constitutionalist.

As disabled veterans who both attend college on different VA education programs. My wife and I are both solely funded by a government entity currently (Disability x2, Post 9-11, and Voc-Rehab). That being said, we both adamantly hate the Democratic side of the fence, especially a few of it's key members, and both refuse to vote that side of the ticket, PERIOD.

If you are going to quibble, at least quibble over the right thing. The worst President in history wasn't yet in the WH at the time of the 2008 election. He only got there afterwards. He was there for the 2012 election.

Actually, for we that hold the Constitution in high regard, the worst President would probably have been Woodrow Wilson.

Also, for those that have forgotten.... we were originally setup as a Republic NOT a Democracy.

:mad5 I'd rather watch a rerun of "the Bird Man" than watch anything Hitlery says.
