How would you handle this road range incident?

Force was covered early on when the man blocked the drivers path imo. Deadly force was covered as soon as he exited and pretended to shoot at the driver. No way would I have reversed down a road away from that guy at night into on coming traffic. Luckily it wasn't a very busy street

Not sure what led up to this incident, but, I think the driver was as least trying to get away from the aggressor, I have a slight advantage in that as a former LEO, I have more tactical driving training, and would have been able to keep more,distance between myself and the aggressor. I would have also driven to a more populated, better lighted area, where I would have been able to have a better tactical advantage.
Obviously the pick up driver has anger management/mental/sobriety issues, that may get him into a situation that he will not be able to survive.JMHO

Well, it's dark and this dude is coming head on towards me as I'm trying to get away and remove myself from that situation.
He jumps out, before I can even kick it in reverse, and points at me with a stance that my tired eyes may perceive to be a weapon in hand.

No doubt how I would react given that scenario. I'm not going to wait and see and/or confirm that he doesn't really have a gun. I'm going to act accordingly in defense of myself, to stop the threat to my life.

By the way, was that guy listening to British equivalent of NPR?

My response to the purely hypothetical situation:

Given the dashcam had audio to back up the video you would need to make sure you were communicating a clear threat to you and yours to cover you six once the DA got the SD card. "Can and Will be used against you" is not just a slogan but a threat.

I am not prior LEO, but I can tell you the under carriage of my truck would need a bath. I would have done a bit more aggressive evasive action after the first blockage. Use of median or sidewalks etc.. If he continued pursue me it would have been while I was on hands free with 911 operator headed towards any known LEO hang outs.

Should he have somehow managed to ram me or incapacity my vehicle it would have been "weapons free" until the threat was stopped. Period.

Lastly, never get caught listening to NPR, rock or speed metal only for high stress situations. At "11" on the volume

Just a clarification that the location is not near the corner of Cutten Road and FM 1960 as stated in the YouTube post. In the video you can clearly see the sign at the entrance to Pinnacle Apartments, which is off Huffmeister about four blocks north of Highway 290. (Map.) Cutten at 1960 is over six miles from there (and only three blocks from Shiloh Shooting range, BTW).

I'm not aware of any sheriff department or constable substations nearby. But what is very close is the North Cypress Medical Center emergency room; that's where I would have headed.

The YouTube entry says it took place around midnight. Nothing good happens after midnight. The only time you'll catch me out at that time is if I have to be.

I agree with bdgyeah: it would have been educational to know what transpired in the minutes just before the video begins. The black truck didn't chase down the vehicle with the dashcam; it has obviously circled around on the roads surrounding the apartments to confront the vehicle head-on. If it was midnight--and you can see there was very little traffic--something triggered this besides the usual bad-behavior-in-traffic.
