9mm subguns and the power of marketing

I have a 300 Blackout AR platform pistol which is a great firearm and I also built an AR platform 9mm rifle that uses Glock magazines and that also has serves its purpose. At this point I am waiting for New Frontier Armory to come out with 10mm a Glock mag lowers so I can have a 10mm rifle that will use the same mags as my carry gun (Glock 29). I think 10mm will be a great compromise and with a 16" barrel I should get some extra velocity along with a .40 cal Bullet.

I tried out an MP5 suppressed for a former employer. Did not care that much for it. Seemed to blow smoke right back in my face and eyes. After a couple of mags I had to put it down and said no thanks. We already had some old S&W M76s to lug around that I felt were unnecessary for our duty. Boss couldn't understand why I would rather use a shotgun or one of the AR15s instead of a " sub machine gun".
All those others on the list are unknowns for me, so I didn't vote.

Now if you had the old American Arms 180 on the list I would have voted. That was a fun shooter. Only problem was it took too long to reload the drum with 177 22LR. At 1200 rpm to sounded more like a loud zipper. Was it practical??? Probably not. It was unique.

Oh for sure, it will weigh more. That sig is a nifty little gun. Heck, the 220 grain .308 bullets alone will weigh more than an entire 9mm cartridge. But I'm going to build my SBR as light as I can. It will sit on the same Spikes Gen II billet lower you already fired at our range day a few weeks ago. The Spikes Gen II Billet receiver halves together are really light (1.65 lbs combined). I'm using a Minimalist stock (5.8 oz), and the barrel I'm going to use weighs 1 lb 6 oz. The entire package is going to weigh 5.8 lb when it is finished — unloaded with optic and mount included.

I'm not to worried about weight.

Would you be so kind as to send me the build sheet for this gun........You did an outstanding job the last time making gathering parts a breeze.

I would vote for the Evo or build your own 9mm.

I have an SBR in 300 BLK with can, and am building a 3.5" 9mm AR (glock mags) and have a 9mm suppressor as well (total barrel length, suppressed = 11").

In the long run, I wish I had skipped the 300 build and went straight to 9mm. The 300 BLK 8" barrel + 7" suppressor is just about as long as a normal AR15, and I can't afford to feed my 300 BLK at $1 a round (even reloading this round is expensive). Yes, the 300 BLK is better than 9mm as far as energy goes, especially at a distance, but I can buy and practice much more at $.25 a round for 9mm hollowpoint subsonics from freedom munitions, and I won't leave the range knowing I spent a fortune shooting that day. I would suspect that good 9mm HP subs (not freedom munitions) would do decent out to a certain point, but I am building that gun for Home Defense anyway - 50 yards max.

Price is what's doing it for me as the EVO is half the MPX, even though that MPX sure is slick. MPX with the rear charging handle is a little gassier than the EVO and I intend to run it suppressed.

Of note, CZ has two carbine options for the EVO out this year. One with a standard flash hider (CZ 08505), the other with a faux suppressor (CZ 08507) from Silencer Co and is supposedly ready to go for SBR conversion, no 992r kit required. I'm curious if the fake can is pinned or what?

Now, if you're on the fence, I can't help you. But, you should know that NRA Certified Instructors do qualify for both the Sig Sauer and the CZ First Responder discounts....

Can ring steel all day long at 100 yards with my 9mm MPX and I'm reasonably confident it would remain effective out to at least 150. After that energy would likely dramatically dissipate and trajectory path would become pretty steep.

Where did you find these for sale already?

Unfair advantage of being an FFL. Had our supplier put one on allocation for me.
