Traveling to Colorado
My wife and I will be traveling to Colorado tomorrow and have a question. I've been reading up at the HandGunLaw.us website and I understand that magazines with capacities over 15 rounds are prohibited. So I assume an extra magazine under the 15 round limit is also against the law. Am I right? Any comments appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Re: Traveling to Colorado
I am certain that carrying a spare 15 round magazine is legal. Here is the letter of guidance from the CO AG, cc'd to Gov Lickenpooper: http://www.handgunlaw.us/documents/agop ... an2013.pdf
It doesn't say anything about backup mags. It only states that the magazine cannot hold more than 15 rounds.

Thanks TAM.
Re: Traveling to Colorado
So, is one still in compliance if the 15 round magazine is called to duty?

Depends.... Don't you love nonspecific answers like that?Abraham wrote:So, is one still in compliance if the 15 round magazine is called to duty?

Re: Traveling to Colorado
I have a Glock 17 that's over 25 years old. It has been in my "continuous possession" since it was new (except maybe for the few weeks when I lost the key to the gun safe ). I would not hesitate to carry it to Colorado.
I also would not hesitate to carry the two spare mags I have for it.
