Usually a day before you recieve your LTC the website will give you the option to change your address and report a stolen or lost LTC. This will be shown on the website once you logon. Sometimes the website changes before you get it sometimes after. Like others have said, there's no rhyme or reason
"Jump in there sport, get it done and we'll all sing your praises." -Chas

How many times a day could you say this? :cheers2:

However, when I go to the Texas.gov site and log in on the Regulatory Services Division, I get a page that says "Choose Service", and below that all it says is "LICENSE APPLICATION STATUS: If you have a pending License to Carry a Handgun application, please allow sufficient time for processing. If you have not already done so, please submit all of the items listed on the checklist you received. DPS will notify you by mail if further information or additional documents are required."

Then below that the only selection is Apply for instructor Certification. There is no selection for checking status. How are you checking status online? I filed all my paperwork online via the website.

I've also tried calling, but always get a recording stating that "due to high call volume, our agents are unavailable to assist you at this time". I've tried calling all hours of the day.

I also emailed a week ago inquiring, with no reply.
What you're seeing is all you're going to see until your status changes. As for getting through on the phone, you just have to keep trying. I find 10:30-11 is a good window to try. They do not respond to emails, usually. Hang in there, buddy!

...At least we aren't alone in this. It's good knowing I'm not the only one that submitted in Dec with no results so far.

They really should update their website. It would save them a lot of headache I would think. All they would need is an entry on the FAQ stating that lead times have been extended due to overwhelming permit submissions. Oh wait, I forgot. It's the government.

The website is considered changed when new options become available on the bottom right. You will eventually see options to change address, etc.

Finally noticed my status changed on the website today. If it works like others here, I should be receiving my LTC very soon. My paperwork was submitted and acknowledged by Dec 23rd.

By law they are required to give an answer in 60 days unless there is a problem and need more info. If they posted a statement about extending that they would be admitting they are breaking the law.

As for updating the website, if they would post something as the process moves forward so you can see where you are they would eliminate a lot of phone calls from frustrated applicants.

Kory, How and where did you go to see that your status has changed. I am in the same situation you are in. I took my class 12/30 and sent prints in1/12/16.

Thanks,
Brian.

I'm official!! Received my LTC in the mail yesterday!!

BK,
Just went to the site here: https://txapps.texas.gov/txapp/txdps/chl/

Before a couple days ago, after logging in, the only option that would show up was signing up for instructor. Now there are other options such as change of address etc...

I'm sure all the late December people will start getting theirs over the next few weeks.

ltc Newbie - did you receive your plastic? We submitted the same day, and I still have no progress. 71 days. I finally got through to them today by phone, and got the usual "Give it another 30 days and call back routine". Geesh. wrote my state reps via email. We'll see if those ears are deaf as well.

I received an email back from my state reps office a few minutes ago stating they are going to contact DPS to get my license to me asap.
