Status change?

#1

Post by Poseidon5 »

So I guess I'll start by posting my timeline again.

Class: 12/26
Application: 1/3
Prints: 1/11
Doc confirmation:1/22

So I checked my status today and there is a new list of options to change my address or report my licence lost, but the application status is saying the same old thing. What does this mean?

Seriously!?!

My timeline...

Class: 1/3
Application: 1/4
Doc confirmation:1/4
Prints: 1/13

I never received any notification after I submitted my application on the 4th. And I've tried calling several times to make sure they had everything. I just checked and still no status change.

Sorry man. I feel like there is a real lack of order in the processing. I just got lucky. Good luck with the rest of your process fellow Texan!

I was all in 12/21 and still haven't seen a status change. Getting. Pretty. Frustrated.

I finally got a hold of them and they told me mine was processing. But she specifically said the 6-8 week timeline wasn't going to happen and that I should anticipate an additional 30 day wait. :banghead:

Love this forum :tiphat: more i read, less i expect...its like it might happen one day "rlol" only sad thing is that my [Pre-paid legal service] that i purchased at the time of class might expire by the time i recieve my license :rules: people! Don't buy the ins before you have the lic. Youll be paying for months that you are not carrying. ill just start carrying rocks in my pocket and be done with it. I have called 2 times, once at thirtysomething days,i was told that the supporting documents need 6 to 8 weeks to attach (is this some biological process that documents go through?) and then 60 days for processing (am i supposed to expect a butterfly when ill open the envelope?) second time i called at sixtysomething days and they barely started my app and give them more time.
Some great people here though

Maybe this will help. Find a calender. Once RDS has absolutely everything they need mark an X through 60 Business days from that last date. ( I know the TRC says days-not business days but seriously the RDS does not work nights-weekends or Holidays). If everything is oerfect, both you and your paperwork --most likely you'll have your LTC in hand within that 60 business day timeline. If there is any item that needs further investigation expect up to 180 business days or a denial. You are going thru a rather rigorous investigation of your physical mental criminal civil and financial life. It's not just about a speeding ticket 8 years ago in Childress. Texas is a shall issue state. If you survive the background investigation you'll get your LTC.

Good luck-relax and trust me on the business day countdown

16Adams, your 60-business day rule of thumb makes sense, but for the fact there are people who were all-in after January 1 and have plastic in hand. It appears folks who were all-in between 12/20ish and 12/31 were skipped over.

That's why I left myself an out with the words "most likely". :-))

But not all applications will progress at the same speed due to medical records, they used to check for unpaid taxes, get copies of court dispositions, have to check same or similar names- it was actually an extensive in depth background investigation not just a TCIC/NCIC check for wanted.

With this type of in depth investigation they can't possibly all progress at the same pace.

I could probably find out with a text message how the investigations are assigned, but Im not going to. I'll save that text for something more self serving :-))But I cannot think of a valid reason to skip over a group. That serves no one.

Bottom line, if you're qualified- LTC will come

The 60 business days might just be right but that is not what they tell you when you apply nor what the website said. I can also understand that they are slammed and need more time then normally but i wish some of the people that attend the phones would be somwhat understanding that when you expect something by a certain date and dont recieve it,you'll be calling to see what has happened. Some of the people on the phone make you feel like you should be ashamed of yourself for calling and instead of being nice, explain the situation they'll tell you not to call anymore because they didn't even start your app. All that at almost 3 months. There have been a lot of emails and phone calls directed to these guys bosses and now it looks like the situation is changing because when i called yesterday,i actually got a answer after the lady on the phone went and checked my app. Nobody expects them to be superhuman and do the impossible but at least be honest and nice,we paid for this service and its normal to be frustrated when they keep giving you different answers that you cannot even call an answer. With all that said, there are nice people there too, like the lady i talked to yesterday. Very helpful and it sure seemed like she cared.

Read the CHL-16. Nowhere in there does it mention Business Days. This is straight from the Texas Government Code.
