A gun guy's dream.

Employer mandated carry and he furnishes the gun.

But, let's criticize the gun choice while ignoring everything else.

Unbelievable.
:iagree: I see so much posted here about where we can't carry, and along comes a thread about MUST carry! The guy that made this decision for his employees should get a gold star!
Do what you say you're gonna do.

Would be even better if a Texas business owner did the same. But yes, Kudos to the owner, and when will he open a branch in Texas? I'll send in my resume. :cheers2:

This story has a little more detail. The employees are mostly women.
According to the owner, they have a choice of carrying or keeping in their desk.
There is nothing that says that they can't buy and carry their own gun.
An aviation insurance company in Atlanta, Georgia is now requiring that all its employees to get a concealed handgun permit and carry a pistol while working.
Lance Toland, who owns Lance Toland Associates, issues each of his employees a rifled-barrel pistol known a Taurus Judge when they show up to work with their
concealed-carry permit. All his agents carry the guns openly in the office, he says.

“I have a number of offices and most of my employees are women,” he said, according to WSB-TV.

“Everybody has one of these in their drawer or on their person. I would not want to come into one of my facilities,” Toland said, according to WSB-TV.

Another link shows an interview with Toland and one of his employees. She says that all employees must agree to get their CHL and commit to being proficient and have the willingness to use it.
Strange at the end of the video they show someone holding a Glock.

I don't know if this all that great of an Idea... There are some people who really shouldn't be carrying guns. Forcing the reluctant might not be such a good idea.

On the other hand I think the Idea of a Judge with buckshot which sounds like is the most likely scenario isn't so bad ... If I were arming myself for inside at a desk, or open carry, the Judge wouldn't seem like a bad choice. I really think sometimes that people think that only their carry choices for their circumstances are valid for every one else ..

Although I haven't taken it to the length that the guy in the article does, I do, upon hiring someone, do a federal background check (we do a lot of work at the Ft. Worth NASJRB) and those that pass, if they do not have a LTC (hard to get used to that), and would like to get one, I will pay for their class and license. I do have a caveat though that they must stay with me for at least 1 year or the cost will be deducted from their final paycheck as if it were a tool. So far 8 of 11 have taken me up on the offer and the other 3 already had a CHL/LTC.

He could be giving Custom Les Baer 1911's to all of his employees and some on here would still criticize him.

If any of the employees didn't want it, I would buy a Judge and trade it for their Custom Les Baer 1911.
