submitted all paperwork via mail, help please?

Post by gonepostal300 »

I submitted online app then mailed via express mail my paperwork on January 4th, no confirmation emails, and when i sign in to check status all i get is apply for instructor with a paragraph above it telling me to allow time for processing and if not already done so then submit paperwork. Should i be concerned or is this normal status until the ever so elusive change in status? Submitting online wasnt an option for me at the time. Any info would be appreciated.

Hi, the only recommendation that I would do is keep trying to call them so you can get confirmation on items sent (received). Other than that, just sit back and enjoy with the many of us.

I just went throug the very same experience. I didn't want to wait a month only to find out they hadn't received anything. I called played a little stupid because I submitted my app in December but couldn't take the class until the end of January and just called this week saying I hadn't heard anything since December when I submitted my application. He told me they just received my CHL-100 on 1/31 so everything's in and just to sit and wait the 6-8 weeks. I accomplished what I was after in knowing they had everything. I agree the website is zero help after you submit. Give them a call, of course be polite and then sit and wait (-:

the only response you'll get from them is your checklist after you complete the online application, they don't send out confirmation that they received your mailed in paperwork. i called in 5wks after mailing and they were able to tell me that they had received everything they needed and i should hurry up and wait

So i called today just to make sure paperwork recieved, it was and my DD214 was approved but and i mean HUGE BUT, my instructors lincense wasnt up to date so ive been denied. I messenger the place where i took class, they assure me this must be a clerical error and he emails them. I called back this evening and same story except they give me dates.....class on January 2nd, his license renewed on January 5th. Now im sick to my stomach. They say i can retake class and then resubmit chl100, he can call and try to make arrangements for them to give me a little break since so close, or he can fill me out another chl100 with later date after reviewing info with me gone over in class.

So he administered a class after his license expired and before it was renewed. He should give you a free class after the license is renewed for free. If he just fills out a CHL100 with a later date, then that too is fraud as I see it (ianal). Might be grounds for his loss of license?? Just get the class done by someone with a current instructor license....

Sorry, they meaning DPS person i talked to told me to get him to do a refresher of materials covered in class and then issue new chl100, i thought it funny myself he would say this. Ive emailed instructor again and awaiting response. Probelm is im 200 miles away working 7 nights a week so getting back for a class, even free is going to cost me 850 dollars to miss a night of work.

What kind of instructor does that, takes your money & time & come to find out that he hasn't even renewed his instructors license? Is he a well known instructor or "fly by take your money who was not an instructor for several years" & in several classes has wrapped several thousand's of dollars & is a gone instructor? Just curious, because I have heard of those kind. Best of luck & hope you get it fixed quickly.

Glad to hear you got it all worked out. Now for the longest short wait of your life. Waiting the 6 months to buy my new gun didn't feel as long as waiting the 2 months for my plastic. Hang in there though, after its over it'll definitely be well worth that wait.

You waited 6 months to buy your gun? Is that a financial thing, or a state thing?

Financial of sorts. Had to get my 'financial adviser' to sign off on it (aka the Wife). Note I already had a few handguns, just had my eye on a new Walther PPQ for a bit and it took some convincing as to why we 'needed another gun'.
