Arrested for Illegal Airsoft Gun

A New Jersey comic isn't laughing after a bit part in a low budget movie backfired, and saw him charged with weapons violations for packing a replica gun during a scene.

Bellario was handcuffed, arrested and charged with weapons possession under New Jersey’s strict gun laws, which say any weapon that fires projectile - even if it is just a pellet - is a firearm.

He did a four-day stint in the Middlesex County Jail, where he was held on $10,000 bail.

The trip to the lockup was just the beginning. Until his court situation in resolved, he is not allowed to leave the state, he said.

"That means I can’t go on the road for comedy gigs," he said. "I can’t earn any money.”
And the libs and anti's want MORE gun laws. Happening in NJ explains part of it, but isn't that still part of the USA?? I guess I just don't get it. :banghead:

Maybe Chris Christie can get it sorted out for him. Or not. ;-)

Your best option for personal security is a lifelong commitment to avoidance, deterrence, and de-escalation.

Probably too late for that. If Christie was making some headway in the primaries, he might do something to get some 2A and common sense cred, but he's not, so this guy is toast.

Maybe he can give David Gregory and get some help.

Well, looks like we won't even have to worry about Christie going any further. After NH, he's dropped out of the race, thank goodness:

I had one of those too! It was a lot of fun.

I don't know of any other state that would treat an Airsoft as a firearm.
I wonder if it also applies to sling shots and rubber band guns.

I am glad Christie dropped out, but I never thought he had a chance.

I suppose if you threw a rock you'd have to remove your arm.

What about baseball, and the rest of the sports projectile throwers...?

The giant cream pastry known as Chris Christie is no longer in the running, bwahahaha!

If I was born in New Jersey, I would never forgive my parents. I would have probably first tried to run away from home at the age of four.

BB guns have to be registered with the state and it is a mandatory 3 year minimum sentence for having an Airsoft gun.

It never ceases to amaze me how stupid people can be. It’s not just the politicians, it’s also the people that elect them.

Well hopefully those people will stay in New Jersey and straightene out the insanity instead of moving to other states and spreading it.
God Bless America, and please hurry.
When I was young I knew all the answers. When I got older I started to realize I just hadn’t quite understood the questions.-Me

Hasbro announced it's new Nerf Blaster was announced at a New York toy fair.
It claims to shoot projectiles at 68 MPH.
That ought to be good for 5-10 years in the NJ State pen.
