Carry case for my AK pistol
I have an AK pistol that I want to carry inside my vehicle. I am looking for a simple case that will hold this gun and 1-2 loaded 30 round mags. It doesn't need to hold anything else and it doesn't need to be fancy. I want something compact enough to slide under my passenger seat when I am not in the car.
And I'm really struggling to find anything that will work. The gun has an overall length of 19 inches. Any ideas?

Just thinking out loud here.
Have you considered a tennis racquet case or a guitar "gig bag"?
Something not "gun specific" might be just the ticket.

Yeah, I'm thinking tennis racket or something else non-gun specific might work. The trick is to find something with just enough room, but not too much.
The pistol itself will easily slide under the seat, but I'm thinking that I will have a lot of unused space with the rounded part of the tennis racket case. I don't mind if the mags are not in the gun, as long as they are in the same case.

Look at this:

A trumpet is 19.5 inches long and this (or something like it might work.

What about a backpack or laptop bag?
I know the laptop bag says 18.4 inch, but I'm sure another 1/2 inch could squeeze in.

Keep calm and carry.

other considerations :
Portfolio Bag - might want to add some padding http://www.amazon.com/Prestige-Heavy-St ... B000HF4VAS
Navitech 20" laptop bag http://www.amazon.com/Navitech-Ultraboo ... B00GFSK7NG
Camping stove bag? ( maybe you have a lot of space under passenger seat lol ) http://www.amazon.com/Partner-Steel-Cam ... B00F480C9W

Re: Carry case for my AK pistol
I've been considering something from PacSafe for my AK, something along the lines of this: http://www.pacsafe.com/catalog/product/ ... -charcoal/
PacSafe makes various backpacks, cases, and luggage items that have a wire mesh incorporated to prevent someone from cutting open the fabric and stealing the contents. Their products usually come with a locking mechanism and a tether so you can secure the item to a fixed object.
Of course anyone with enough time and tools can eventually defeat it, but it is a big step up from any kind of soft bag, and the hard cases often take up so much room.

Most of the solutions are good but scream "break in, steal, and pawn".
I'd get a plastic file box, label it as " blank job application" and hid in plain sight
