I'm of two minds, just depending on what I plan to do (tuck or not.)

I like my Comp-Tac MTACs (with the "C" clips, or velcro clips for deep conceal) for tuckable, and my Milt Sparks Summer Specials for un-tucked carry.

They work for me all the way into full-size Glocks. 1911's are quite nice for IWB carry.

I ended up with a crossbreed or two as well, and they're fine. I can't say anything negative about them, but I can't really review them either--I've only worn them for about 5 days total...but they're certainly functional.

I do find that an undershirt makes IWB carry much more comfortable.

I'd like to give my reccomendation for a Triple T holster. Super comfy and very well designed. Made locally here in Texas too.

Ok, I'll chime in.
Have you thought about where IWB you might carry? Most folks find between 3:00 to 4:30 works best.
Please do not try to carry in the small of the back, google it and see why it's a bad idea.
So, Single or double clip? Leather, Kydex, or hybrid?

I have in my carry rotation a Ruger LC9, holster I use depends.
I have a a problem arises dbl clip for 3:30 ish.
A N82 2:00 or 3:30
A Remora for AIWB, usually crossdraw.
A Remora Micro, same.
And just ordered a Clinger Atom for grins.

Whatever holster you choose, it won't be your only.
And get a good Gun Belt. It makes all the difference.

I hate IWB carry. I have to wear jeans (that's all I wear) 2 inches oversize which makes me look fatter than I am 'cause I don't have a butt. I carry a 1911 in the MTAC with standard clips and a very good belt. very comfortable. I've used crossbreed - they're not too bad either. I also hate fobus paddle holsters. belt holsters for me, when I can.

I've been carrying IWB since I received my license, back in 2009. I've been using the ONLY IWB I've ever had. In fact, I've only had this one...
It's a Don Hume IWB with a metal clip. It's worked well for me very well for 7 years.

http://www.donhume.com/index.php?main_p ... ucts_id=36

I bought it at the Ft.Worth gun show back in 2009. Cost me $45.00. Has great retention, easy to remove(with pistol in holster), and put back on.

I only appendix carry at my 9:30 position and yes, I'm a lefty. I sometimes place the holster at my 2:30 position for a cross draw configuration, but not very often. It's extremely comfortable, and most time I don't even know it's there. Quite often I find myself checking just to see that it's there.

You brought up a consideration . I'm right handed , my right wrist has been broken three times and has just about fused itself . Range of motion is gone in that wrist , can't carry much farther back than side or cross draw , wrist will not rotate to carry behind . I have a shoulder rig that works fine but don't like wearing it , don't like being put in harness , don't like to wear two layers of clothing to conceal .
And your advice on a belt is good , need some recommendations there also .

Yeah I have an IWB similar to this for my SR9C and it worked real well. I don't like these with my M11 A1.

+1 on the Alien Gear. I received my Cloak Tuck 3.0 about two weeks ago for my H&K VP9 and have been very pleased. I carry at the 3:00 position with a slight forward cant and it works very well. I ordered two additional shells for my Glock 22 and 4" 1911 as well as their OWB holster and I really like how you can change the shells around to accommodate different guns and swap the same shell between the IWB and OWB holster. I was a little concerned that the large surface area of the neoprene backing would cause me to sweat underneath but that hasn't been the case. The Kydex is relatively thick so it doesn't collapse the the gun is removed, making re-holstering easy.

I thought the price was very reasonable, too. The IWB and OWB holsters with three shells including shipping was $102.

chuckj, all I have in Alien gear holsters are for 1911 pistols. If you have a 1911 and want to try one the wife goes to Wichita Falls every Friday or Saturday. Would be more than happy to send one your way to try out for awhile before you buy cold.

Sidro that is a very generous offer and I truly thank you . I still have several 45 cal 1911's but as I stated ..........the old wrist just ain't up to to em . To much recoil , tried different springs but no dice . However ! I have thought about a 1911 in 9mm , full frame . Should I go that way I'll pm you , thinkin about a Range officer , single stack , thinner on the grip , could make a difference ? Kind of a costly experiment though . LOL , broke it first time skinnin the cat on a neighbors clothesline pole when I was about 7 , second time backup pipe tongs and a a careless driller on a drilling rig , third time a drunk crossed the center line and crushed both hands , drunk was DOA , GOD was with me though . Thank you sir and if you get to WF before 10 am I'll dang sure buy you a cup of coffee ! Thank you . (Ps , get there bout noon any day except Monday and I'll buy lunch ! I would enjoy that )

The first (and only) carry holster I have for my M&P compact is a Comp-Tac M-Tac. I've been using it for the last 5+ years now and hope to be using it for five + more. The Hybrid IWB holster with two attachment points is hard to beat (and quite comfortable to me, when coupled with a good belt and an undershirt. I have a similar holster for a Bodyguard 380 as well, and prefer using that belt holster to pocket carry.

I have a Kusiak Leather holster I use for my ruger lcp, I love it.
I carry it at 10.00 for cross-draw, started it when I was having shoulder problems and couldn't move it to draw on my right side without pain, I never went back.

Just to add another manufacturer to the list, White Hat Holsters in Mansfield, TX makes some outstanding hybrid IWB and OWB holsters. One of the things I really like about them is you can get the backing in horsehide vs cowhide if you want. The horsehide seems to hold up to sweat much better.
