no actually because there is no such thing as an accidental discharge, its negligent because you forgot the first rule of fire arms. period dot end of discussionchamberc wrote:And of course, a small possibility of an AD.Unocat wrote:True, when it comes down to it anyone can be arrested for anything... and anyone maybe sued civily for anything. Yes. There ARE accidental discharges. Not every unintended discharge is a result of negligence. They're not common, but they happen. Open bolt guns with worn sears... Hammer dropping after charging slide... Not ALWAYS preventable...

I cannot honestly say that I take micrometers to each part in my firearms when I clean and maintain them. With the tolerances we are often dealing with, I am not sure how else I could fit your criteria. I hope that it is never an issue for me.JP171 wrote:yes actually they are ALL preventable, open bolt use the correct ammo not some cheap junk, disconnector is worn replace it, maintain your equipment not your excuses again there is NO SUCH THING as an accidental discharge of a firearm periodScottDLS wrote:Yes. And the alternative is that you see a non-compliant sign, you make a guess that the intent of the property owner is to preclude guns on the property (i.e. the property owner is ignorant), and you enter the store unarmed. You are killed instead of having the ability to defend yourself, and you don't have to worry about being falsely arrested.thetexan wrote:Agreed. But that traffic ticket doesn't make your defense attorney spend extra time and money producing evidence trying to prove the reasonableness of your decision to shoot to a jury who already has evidence that you do not obey the simplest of laws.
tex
I'll just obey the law as written and take my chances if I am falsely arrested for something that is not illegal.
