Texas Carry

#1

Post by safety1 »

I have heard that "Texas Carry" guest speaker Terry Holcomb Jr. will be at a free local seminar in my
general neck of the woods this coming up weekend on Saturday Jan 23rd. It is titled "New Texas Gun Laws Seminar"
I no nothing about this person nor have I ever seen him before, is he reputable? His Bio states he was
instrumental in getting open carry passed in Texas. This sends up a read flag for me. Your input would
be appreciated. Thanks

He was not instrumental in passing open-carry. He lost a primary race for the Texas House in 2014 and he wants to run again.

It was Watkins, but both are in the same small kayak.

Thanks for the quick feed back guys.
The name sounded familiar, but was unsure.
I will NOT be attending this event. Thanks again!!

Chas.
This makes perfect sense, the event is sponsored in part by a "conservative republican club".
Thanks for the information Charles and those that replied.

Maybe someone should attend so they can correct the misinformation he is certain to provide.

He was the "guest speaker" at a "New Texas Gun Laws" presentation at a meeting put on by one of my local CoP programs. Aside from his taking significant credit for the passage of HB 910, the information he presented was pretty much just the facts about the new laws.

His claim for being "instrumental" in the passage of HB 910 comes from his being there to testify for/on the bill in committee as well as being in the gallery when it was being discussed. Notice I said the gallery, not the floor. He may have spoken with some Representatives and Senators, but I don't really think he has that much political influence, especially since he rubs shoulders with Stickland/Huffines.

Record it, at least on audio, and upload it to a website. Share the link to the file here. Post it on Facebook too.

Send Holcomb a link. "rlol"
