WFAA gun discussions this week

#1

Post by Smokey »

WFAA in Dallas is planning on doing pieces every day this week featuring gun topics. One of the ads I've seen a couple times involves them "testing" LTCers in a simulated mass shooting where the shooter has an AR-15 type rifle.

Might be interesting to watch.

Hopefully they also know going up against AR-15s is not the only reason to carry a gun.

And hopefully they don't do it like the one show where they had a police firearms instructor who knew who the carrier was and targeted him first. Also the carriers were not trained.

Like 95% (or more) of licensed carriers?

Yes, but when you send a trained attacker in targeting an untrained carrier how is that in any way representative?

This is true, but the attacker may have a plan and they do have the element of surprise. I wouldn't expect the carrier to come out on top in most of these demos, even if it were untrained vs untrained.

I got my CHL from DFW shooter academy and I bought a silencer there too, I was invited to be apart of this program. I couldn't make it I'm interested in watching it

Wonderful. I wonder if they will have OCT participate? They seem to be the face of LTC these days. I've seen C.J. interviewed at least 3 times since 1/1.

Yeah it was. I was surprised at how well some of the participants fought the active shooter even with having very little training.
