Suppose your favorite restaurant/ store is now 30.06 posted...What do you do?

I probably would send an email or if they have a formal comment card/suggestion platform I'd use that as well. Something that is more likely to be recorded than a simple phone call. Although a phone call could be effective if you are able to be put on the line with a manager or someone higher up

Eat somewhere else. Both my wife and I are better cooks than what can be found in most restaurants. There is NO place I so badly need to eat at that I'm willing to disarm to eat there.

We have 3 favorite restaurants. The owners of 2 of them know us by name. If they were to post 30.06, I would disarm long enough to go in and tell the owners why we won't be back. They would not only lose my business, they would lose the business of my family and some of my friends. So turning away 1 LTC holder (me) would cost them the repeating business of 6-10 people.

If it's one of a couple of places where I know the management, I'll certainly let them know why I won't be patronizing their establishment any more, and will discourage friends/family from doing so as well. If it's somewhere that I don't know anyone, I probably won't miss going there anyway.

If a business goes from no posting to both, I'm going to assume there's a good chance they meant to ban open carry only, and that's all that will be on their "radar". From there, I'll make a judgement call.

For me, that applies to lines just about everywhere. Rarely do I need anything badly enough to wait more than a few minutes in line for it. I just can't abide the notion of standing in line to hand over my money to someone whether it be a restaurant or a store. I have left purchases behind many times at stores that fail to provide sufficient check-out capacity to process customers quickly.

With "socialists posing as democrats" occupying the highest federal posts the last seven years, why would you not expect to see Soviet-era lines at American stores? Disarm or vote with your feet. That is all we can legally do.

I'm not sure that accounts for all of it.....I've been in a busy big box store several times with only one cashier working and long lines. I attribute those incidents to management failure. But I think the bunch in power are worse than mere socialists....they're Marxists and all that implies.

Thanks for the replies. I'll be ordering some of the no guns = no $ cards and writing a few emails. I'm not convinced it will do much good, but at least I will know I did my part.

For the record, I don't patronize businesses that are 30.06 posted unless they are already off limits.

The only exceptions I can think of are hospitals(I think they're all posted around here) or places I wouldn't carry anyway: amusement parks, water parks, skating rinks or other places my gun might fly off unexpectedly or sink to the bottom.

The good restaurants around here, and some of the not-so-good ones, are so busy, >30 minute waits usually, no reservations, that they would not likely notice the drop in patronage. The Olive Garden at the shopping center often has an hour or more wait in the evening.

I also doubt they'd miss the patronage or even admit to themselves it was due to their anti-gun policy even if they did. But after my stint in the military lining up for chow there is no restaurant on this planet I'd wait 30 minutes to eat at, much less an hour --especially the Olive Garden. Then again, I also don't particularly enjoy a meal consumed in a packed and noisy restaurant, so if I did want some of what was on the menu I'd place my order over the internet and pick it up at the takeout window....which, at the local Chilis anyway, means completely avoiding a line.

I might have to make very different choices if I couldn't order just about anything I wanted from the internet, delivered right to my door, often for less money than at the store, no lines, no hassle, no out of stock and wasted trip.

Right on about not doing lines (left over from military service over 40 years ago!) and ordering from the Internet (especially from Amazon with Prime free delivery). Life is short - eat dessert first and stay out of lines.
