I know about TACPRO, but thats a good hour and change of a drive for me. I could do that maybe once every couple months, but I'm looking for a good range that extends out past 300 yards, maybe 500, thats within half an hours drive of Grand Prairie.

If you know of any, please let me know. I have some .308 thats itching to get some room to really fly.

Anybody?

I'm especially looking for a range that will allow me to shoot prone, or any other safe way I see fit. I hate sitting on a table to shoot. Never did it in the Army, don't see why it's necessary now.

I'd be happy with a 300 yard range right now. :(

While it's not "in" DFW, the Terrell Rifle & Pistol club has 200 yard ranges.

Closest range I know of is Tac Pro Shooting Center in Mingus- about 70 miles west of D/FW on I20 - they have 200 - 1000 yd ranges.

here is their website: http://www.tacproshootingcenter.com/index.html

Or you can try Tiger Valley down in Waco, theyre more of a training facility though.

Adrenaline Proving Grounds has a 300yd range just west of Greenville on 380. And I believe that they allow prone shooting, not just bench rest:

Thanks for the links gentlemen! I'll have to do some investigating, but it appears I'll just have to carve large blocks of time out for this.

What about Gibson's on Lawson Road. Are they still open?

They are, but their longest range is 200 and they are certainly more than half an hour from Grand Prairie.
