Well I got the VA non-res CHP just recently. I travel to Northern Virginia a lot for work, but most of the time I'm also in DC and MD, so it's not really practical to carry. I mostly got it because it's on the list of ones I "can" get. I've had PA & FL in the past and may get them again when I can afford it. Right now I have TX, AZ, CT, NH, & VA. I'd like to add PA, FL, NV, MA, & DC (if court decisions go the right way).
The VA non-res is pretty lame looking. It is a card with the passport photo I sent them laminated in the back. I had a ME one once that looked just as junky. It appears to be hand signed though...like my old PA one from Centre County.

Believe it or not the non-resident permit actually looks a whole lot better than the resident permit which looks like something you just put together on your 'puter!ScottDLS wrote:Well I got the VA non-res CHP just recently. Blanking out your weight?ScottDLS wrote: Right now I have TX, AZ, CT, NH, & VA. I'd like to add PA, FL, NV, MA, & DC (if court decisions go the right way).
So, how much do you spend on an annual basis, getting all the wallpaper? And, is it just a collector's hobby, or do you actually use all of them?
Since I don't travel that much anymore, I'm fat, dumb and happy with the Texas LTC since it covers me where I'm most likely to ever travel (Texas and bordering states plus Arizona).

I got my VA non-resident because it was a lot cheaper than TX. Since then TX has reduced fees but still cheaper.

My weight is a national secret!! Still less than a few years ago, but not as trim as I'd like to be! I'm not sure if I've ever used my non-res CHL's except maybe Florida in 2002 for 15 days when my CHL expired before I got the replacement.n5wd wrote:Blanking out your weight?ScottDLS wrote: Right now I have TX, AZ, CT, NH, & VA. Most of them aren't that expensive (on a yearly basis), way less than my NFA stuff even 10 years after I got my last machinegun. I travel a lot for business, but it tends to be to places where I can't carry... CA, MD, DC... I was in Utah on vaca over Thanksgiving, but didn't carry. I need to get Utah.
