That one is actually pretty creative. Misguided and juvenile, but way more entertaining that a bunch of kids holding picket signs.bigity wrote:How some UT students are responding:

I found this particular quote to be of interest:
"The implementation of campus carry law brings with it many complications, but we strongly urge the MC Board of Trustees to create lots of “gun-free” zones, even if they have to push limits of the law."

This class is designed to familiarize deputies with the laws that relate to the new open carry law so when challenged with the law by citizens, each deputy will be prepared to answer questions on the open carry law its self, and the laws that give "law enforcement the power to do what they do", "are going to do", "and what they have done". The class will also cover situations that deputies might encounter when approaching citizens carrying a firearm in the open, and managing your emotions to be able to properly control and deal with the encounter."
I think that it is perhaps a bit telling regarding the attitude of the Harris County Constable that the language seems to me to be more about what they have to do to enforce the law that they don't really want to have to enforce AND comply with. I would love to be a fly on that wall to be able to hear what they will say about what they can do, are going to do, and all about those emotions now that a citizen will be able to OC.

I love Texas!!!! Thank you Col. McCraw for trusting and respecting your CHL employees. I wonder of any other state police agency does likewise? I suspect not.Col. Steve McCraw wrote:DPS Director Steve McCraw told the state Public Safety Commission on Thursday that “non-commissioned” employees with a license to carry would still be able to pack a concealed handgun at work.
