I argue with anti-gun folks on other forums all the time. Their arguments are nearly always personal attacks/ad hominems---rarely any logic or facts. A good example is the planned protest of mis-guided University of Texas students set for next year.

Kind of hilarious they would call 911 at all but that's their mentality. Anything goes wrong in their pathetic lives and how do they respond? Call a man with a gun...

It's so draining to argue with anti gunners. I told myself I was going to stop but sometimes I can't help it. They look at us like there's something wrong with us for carrying a gun. I even had a guy on Reddit tell me that my gun was more likely to kill me than a bad guy. His other argument was that if I got shot then I wouldn't be able to effectively return fire and would just end up hitting an innocent person. How do I combat such ignorance?

Well, there's your problem right there...Reddit and guns. I quit going there the day I read 50+ comments about how awesome RIP ammo is.

Your memory is correct. They called him "Lông Trắng", which translates as "White Feather Sniper", due to his habit of wearing a white feather in the band of his boonie hat.

But I seriously doubt that any of the gun haters would know this fact, and even if they did, they couldn't claim any glory for their white feather without glorifying a great sniper in the process.......which is pretty funny if you think about it.

I love this idea. Count me in.

You don't. It's not "ignorance," which could be easily remedied, it's psychological, an element of their personal identity. You taking responsibility for self-defense forces them to confront their unwillingness to defend themselves, usually stemming from cowardice. It's usually not psychologically possible for a coward to acknowledge his cowardice.

The trouble with many of those liberal anti-gun folks is that they secretly have guns. They just don't want others to have them. I even found myself in a discussion with a lawyer, former prosecutor, up in New Hampshire on a friends FB page. She claimed she has a carry permit, but wants to make it more difficult for others to obtain a firearm. She argued that she is okay because two other people had to submit affidavits saying so before she could get her permit. I pointed out her elitist attitude that since she has hers she's okay with making it more difficult for others not so lucky and the obvious flaw in the ease of getting two people to say anyone was okay by pointing to all the news coverage after someone has committed some heinous crime saying how shocked they were and that they seemed so normal and never would have suspected anything like that from them.

I would really like to give folks like this the white feather, but do you all think it applies? They probably aren't cowards, just "wacko birds" to borrow a phrase from some Arizona Senator.
