DPS is so dumb

I accidentally submitted my application as an indigent. So I emailed DPS and it told me to mail in a $70 dollar check. I mailed it in along with my CHL-100 form and a copy of my green card on August 29th and DPS cashed my check on September 10th.

I was assuming everything works fine until I called earlier today. The person answered my phone said they did not received my $70 fee and my copy of green card. Well, they did receive my CHL-100 form (They are in the same envelop and DPS has cashed my check). Here is the conversation on the phone:

Me: I mailed in the $70 dollar check on August 29th and you cashed my check on Sep 10th.
DPS guy: Yes, but the application fee is $140
Me: I know, I paid $70 while I submitted my application online and I mailed in the check. That added up to $140
DPS guy: I couldn't see you mailed in the check. You have to fax in or email a screenshot from the bank and prove the check is cashed. Also, you have to fax in or email a copy of your green card.
Me: ......

Well, at least I learned something:

(1) Never trust DPS. If you can submit your documents online, don't mail them in.

(2) Do not assume that they will do things right. They won't.

(3) A lot of dumb people working in the government. They should get fired and let qualified people get their job.

Because I accidentally submit my application as an indigent. The application fee for indigent is only $70. Then I discover that mistake and I have to mail in a $70 check to make up the difference

You registered as indigent so I guess you could call that a mistake. DPS made a mistake by missing some paper work and cashing the check. I guess if you are going to say DPS is dumb that might work two ways.

Rather than just presuming that everyone involved is sooooo stupid (suggesting that you are sooooo intelligent) how about just accept you live in the "real" world. No one is perfect...including yourself...people make mistakes....including yourself....and sometimes things just "happen." The mistakes began with you...the confusion began with you. You're not innocent in this, so you need take some blame. Also, we're only hearing your side of the story.

That is fine, but people make up that entity and people make mistakes. There is absolutely no reason to post that they are "dumb" because of an error especially since the error began on the other side of the equation.

Not a good first post. You make a mistake, yet your response to a mistake by DPS (if there was one) is to call them stupid and untrustworthy. I'm not impressed with your double standard.
