It looks like a gun control push is being announced again in the Senate today.

I'll bet it goes just as far as the last few attempts, too.

"includes closing background check loopholes for Internet and gun show sales"
I hear this all the time. Is this a real thing! As far as I know you cannot buy on the internet without picking it up at a FFL. If you buy at a gun show, you will get a background check. Am I wrong?

I am of the same understanding as above other than I have never been to a gun show. I have purchased a handgun online and everywhere I looked, i.e. dealers, auctions, etc., required a FFL to ship to for the transfer.

No background check if buying from a private individual at gun show. If buying from a dealer needs background check. If you buy on internet and they ship to FFL I don't know if a background check is done by receiving FFL.

Yes, it is. The one time I bought a gun online, it was my Ruger Gunsite Scout, which I purchased from an FFL in Pennsylvania. He shipped it to my local FFL, and I had to fill out the 4473 when I picked up the gun. Also, when my dealer receives the form 4 approval for my suppressor, I will have to fill out a 4473 when they transfer it to me - even though I paid for it 5 months ago.

Talking points. So they will pass new laws that already are being enforced. But they will be able to say they are doing something.

I guess this then just becomes the same old- same old not allowing sales between private parties without a background check. The gun show "loophole" is only non background check if it involves a private party sale, same as if you sold your neighbor your gun.

Another way they manipulate polls and uneducated people. They ask if your in favor of eliminating the gun show loophole and use the yes answer as "people support more gun control".

Once concern with any legislation around the background check I have is that my bet is that the language will end up including gifting. Like gifting a firearm to an adult son/daughter then requiring we do a background check. I don't know what a background check costs but that also becomes a control mechanism, start raising that cost over time.
