Tacical Carbine Class recommendations
Re: Tacical Carbine Class recommendations
James Yeager is very controversial.
Look him up on Youtube.
Then decide if want him to train you.

My interpretation was that the OP was looking for direct experience based testimonials, not opinions based on research he could do himself on the internet.LSUTiger wrote:What kind of non sense is that?Bitter Clinger wrote:
If you have no direct experience, while you may offer the contact info, an opinion on relative merit is inappropriate, IMHO.
When making a decision between two things you have no direct experience with you have to make a judgement call- which is an opinion on relative merit based on the information you have and what you value most.
You've never had to decide on option A or option B with no experience with either?

Over on the Fort Worth side of things http://www.proactivedefense.net/ is decent. If you dislike jargon you won't get it there.

bingo. Just want feedback from people that took a tactical carbine class covering things like home defense, and maybe some zombie apocalypse scenarios to make things interesting and fun.

Re: Tacical Carbine Class recommendations
Most of the controversy is because of the title of videos he has made and his attitude. I have trained with Tactical Response two different times at Bastrop, TX. The classes were well worth the money. Both time I took Fighting Pistol. You will do more in a two day class than you will at most 5 days classes. However, I totally understand that some people just won't give Yeager money.Abraham wrote:James Yeager is very controversial.

It is worth noting that James doesn't teach many classes. My lead instructor both times was Jay Gibson former Marine Scout Sniper and Military Contractor. The other instructor was Dave Biggers formerly of XS sights. Not trying to convince anyone to train with Tactical Response but since no one with experience had chimed in I decided too. Love Yeager or hate him, his classes are legit and you will not regret the time and money. Just my 2 cents.

Re: Tacical Carbine Class recommendations
A really good class is "Tactical Rifle Operator" at CSAT (Paul Howe) in Nacogdothes. I took the class on the weekend of 10/11 Oct 2015 and it was excellent. The class size was 24 (Paul and 4 other instructors on the range). About half the class was LEO. I have shot 3 gun competition for several years but I learned a lot in this class that is applicable to real world use. $500.00 for the class but some of the best money I have spent in a long time. This is not a class for a new shooter. You need to know at least a little about how to use the rifle before going. Also, getting a little conditioning in before going would be helpful. My legs were sore for a few days (but well worth it :-) ).

I am a regular at Critical Defense Group and can vouch for the fact that Mac is the best instructor I've ever found. We have a number of students that have been to Front Sight and will never go back after going through Mac's training.
Come out for a day, give DH 1, or Tactical Carbine 1 a try. I promise you will not be disappointed.
If you have a buddy, spouse, or child to train with he does a 2 for 1.
Feel free to PM me if you want more info, I'm happy to discuss over the phone or send you more videos of some of the training we do.
